This feels like gossip girls.
Why would Denver take a deal from the Lakers that deals around Andrew Bynum? He's often injured and has a huge contract and I doubt he re-signs. Not to mention they have Nene there already. Also, they've been saying what they REALLY WANT IS DRAFT PICKS. Which this Laker deal will not likely include.
All these ridiculous "sources" are coming out saying new things every day. There's zero credibility to any of it. Ever since "The Decision" fiasco everyone wants to be first in calling where certain big name players will land. Happened with LeBron/Bosh/Wade, happened when Chris Paul addressed his dismay, and now its happening with Carmelo Anthony. Denver is doing this all to have New York up its offer and rob us blind.
Luckily, Donnie Walsh is the godfather. He's seen it all, done it all. He knows when GM's are bluffing, especially a new owner and a new general manager. He's done right by us for the past two years, I'm confident in whatever he does, even if its no deal at all.
Secondly, Melo has been saying all the right things. There's no way Melo is in a Nuggets uniform at the start of next season, quote me. If the Nuggets don't deal him before the deadline, don't you think its a good idea for Melo to say "I'll consider staying here" in order to detract the attention for the rest of the season? Why would he want to go through all the speculation that LeBron did and that he is currently going through for the REST OF THE SEASON when he won't even be able to change teams til the offseason?
Smart move by Melo, at least people will shut up if he says that.
