Oh hell no.

Chelsea needs to blow up their team despite constantly playing in the semis/final of the UCL, but it's a huge accomplishment for Arsenal?

Of course it is.

Chelsea are a huge budget club who've been losing money since Abrahamovic took over. His main objective with Chelsea is to win as many trophies as possible and thats why he's spent hundreds of millions of pounds on player transfers and wages while the club has been in the red the entire time. Why do you think they've had 5 different managers in the last 6-years or so? The guy wants immediate results.

Arsenal are operated more like a corporation. The stakeholders care more about balancing the books (after taking on enormous debt to build the Emirates) and they've been doing this by giving Wenger a modest budget, constraining player wages and by making money off of condo developments and other investments. While Wenger, the players and the fans want to win now, its simply not a priority at the top. Thus, making it deep into the UCL each season with a team with a limited budget is a huge accomplishment. Why do you think Arsenal are such a young team? Because Wenger thinks a 18-year-old can do the same job as a 25-year-old? No, it's because players in the prime of their careers demand significantly higher wages than teenagers who are paid peanuts. Wenger has little power in this respect...the club gives him a limited amount of money each summer and he's forced to buy young and inexpensive players. What are you supposed to do when you're given like 20 million pounds and have 3-4 needs? Arsenal aren't like Chelsea where they can drop as much money as it takes to acquire a player.

WOW you want your team to lose...A supporter that matches his club with no ambition

Thats why theyre scum. Like you said Gooners would rather balance the books for a crap stadium and be competitive (another word for not win anything)

utter trash

Cot damn you just don’t get it and you for some reason you won’t just leave it alone. Tevez was speaking from the shareholder's perspective, not Wenger's or that of the gunner faithful. We (fans) want to win but as you can tell we are going about it by building and growing the team together not just by dropping a ton of money. I'll admit at times its frustrating for us fans but once we start taking some trophies the feeling will be that much better.

Seriously go read a book or something, your reading comprehension is horrible.

Chelsea clowning Stoke right now (as they should be). 6-0 and Malouda has missed two sitters in the past 10 minutes. This is huge for the GD since they could end up tied with ManU.
Edit: 7-0.

Been lurkin on this thread for a while and I'm relatively new to the game. It's cool to read a lot of yall's comments, as I've learned some things here and there about the EPL that I didn't know previously. On the topic of team finance, would a salary cap be possible for the EPL, and for Europe as well? Would it be sensible? Also, what's the perception of Michael Ballack as a player these days? I know he's getting up there in age, but he's one of the reasons why I gravitated towards Chelsea (have German ancestry haha). Any answers are appreciated.

Gerrard passes to Drogba in an attempt to sabotage United's title chances...

EDIT ~ And thats a wrap.

Owen Hargreaves' facial hair...
laugh.gif
 not a good look...
nice to see him fit again...too bad he didn't get to touch the ball after he came in...

Anyone recall that Gerrard did the same thing in Euro 2004 against France? It looked almost exactly the same, except after Henry tapped it around the keeper he was taken down.

More and more reason to not take England seriously.

They're more or less locked into third, so they're prly cruising. Only way they drop is if Spurs win out and Arsenal loses to Fulham.

Of course.. here comes all of the "you need to get out of the group stage first..." "you haven't done anything yet..."

yeah yeah yeah. Bottom line, Spurs are playing CL football... and making the tournament will help attract bigger names which can only make spurs better. They have a realistic chance to finish 3rd in the table too. Spurs will get a result against Burnley and Gooners must beat a lesser fulham side.

Don't get me wrong, this isnt' a I HATE ARSENAL post. This is a F yeah, SPURS WILL PLAY UCL FOOTBALL NEXT SEASON.

COYS!!!

Spurs had the better chances. Ref disallowed a good goal by King. All in all great performance by a better TEAM.
