Ok, it's that time of the year when people start drafting their fantasy basketball teams. Let's keep all the fantasy basketball conversations like "Rate my team," "Should I do this trade," "Who should I pick up" in here so we can keep the board clear of clutter.

Here's a few sites I use for injury updates that could be helpful for others...

http://www.sportsline.com/nba/injuries

Add a few more if you like...

So Gallinari gets to stay only if he gets PT in NY but his shot is supposed to be on point and his back healthy, Nate concerns me but regardless of the crazythe guy still gets buckets. Jamal I dont know how much PT he will get in ATL and honestly, I don't think Nash will be able to make up for a lack of assistswith those two.... I've been keepin my eye on either DaJaun Blaire or Antonio McDyesse, and I'm also worried about Gil stayin healthy and Ariza beingable to put the ball in the hoop without the other 14 Lakers around him anymore.

Any thoughts on maybe trying to trade Ariza or Gil for some more Boards/Assists since I think I'll struggle there?

Oh, and if Channing Frye isn't already taken in your league go pick him up! Robin Lopez broke his foot, and he has been hitting 3's like MAD inpractice for the Suns, so the starting spot is his to loose next to Nash.

Roscoe, is this a 12-man league? I'm liking that you drafted Anthony Randolph (yeah homer
laugh.gif
), but seriously,I think you have good bigs... good team overall. I would probably get another assist man just to solidify that category.

I don't know about Blair. Someone clear this up for me, but isn't he playing behind Duncan, McDyess, and Bonner? Not sure about his MPG, but I'd beweary of that.

I'm a believer in Gilbert. If you're looking to trade either Gilbert or Ariza, I'd trade Ariza. You've said it yourself, he doesn't havethe other 14 Lakers playing with him. I think that will hurt his stats. He'll still get a few blocks/steals, but I think he's expendable.

NT 10-man league on Yahoo. I took Durant with the #3 overall pick. I wanted LeBron but he was taken #2. I dont trust Wade due to his injury history. I thinkthat Kobe's individual stats will drop (resting him in the 4th quarter, steamrolling weaker teams) as the Lakers cruise to a 60+ win season.

Carlos, personally, I would have went with Wade. I like his contributions in points, FT%, FG%, assists, steals, andblocks. You're right with Kobe's stats dropping. I think his situation is similar with Duncan's. Jackson and Popovich are going to rest their starsrespectively.

Looking at your team, assists stick out for me. Try getting one more assist guy on your team. You're kind of lacking in the 3pt category, as well. Overall,it's a good starting point. There are areas where your team needs help in.

I agree with paul, I think you need another PG too, try trading someone in your league for stuckey or chris duhon type player who will rack upassists like no other. I see you have kryptonate and rip too, so I dunno if you want to target those 2 PG's. Also you need to split up all those celticsare on your team, thats too many guys from the same team.

heres my team, 12 team yahoo league, playing for cash too. I need another PG though

Can someone school me on Rotisserie scoring and is it better than Head to Head? I'm trying to join a league too
nerd.gif
. Any tips on drafting people?

nike4KJA05, good luck in your money league. I've gotmy own money league with friends, too.

I think you did well in your drafting. I think Kenyon gets slept on by a lot of people.

You're right, you do need another PG. I, myself, like to have at minimum 3 PGs. You should try and pick one up. There's always those players that comeout of nowhere and everyone jumps at the opportunity to pick them up. Ramon Sessions comes to mind from last year. I say keep your eyes peeled or try to make atrade for a quality assist man.

CP, that team was autopicked? Your team looks really good with Rondo, Durant, Melo, and Duncan? Then you got peoplewith upside like Sessions, Thompson, Okafor, Curry, and Bynum? Damn!

This is at least a 10 man league, right?
laugh.gif

PatentBoy23, it really depends on your preference.

Rotisserie is played by totaling up your stats at the end of the year and seeing who ranks highest in the most categories.

Head to Head is played by totaling up your stats against your one opponent for the week. The person with the best record gets the highest seed, then 2ndhighest gets the next seed, and so forth. The playoffs are played by using a bracket tournament. Then teams face each other week by week, and the winnersadvance to the next week to face the other winners until a champion is crowned.

I usually play Head to Head so that's the one I'm most familiar with. Others will argue that Rotisserie is better. I just think it's preference. There different strategies that go into each format.

I got the #2 pick in a 14 team league, the guy with the 9th pick wants to trade, should I take his 1st and 2nd round picks?

KnockoutNed, I like your bigs. You went with getting guards till later. I don't think that's a bad ideaconsidering the amount of good bigs in the league isn't that good. There's a lot more serviceable guards later on down the road.

I'm really surprised you were able to get Allen Iverson all the way down in the 13th round. I think that's a steal! Dunleavy hopefully will play likehe did 2 seasons ago. Still in the 14th round, the upside is very good there. Another steal.

How many people in this league? 10 teams, I'm guessing?

Overall, I think you did very well for your draft.

joegolfdad, I think you did alright. One thing that jumped out to me was that you have both Bynum and Manu. I hopethey play a full season, I really do, but I don't think so.

I like your pick of Tyrus Thomas. I feel that he is going to have a better year than last year... and last year was pretty good.

wohcttank, what is the trade exactly? I don't think I'm understanding fully.

So overall you think my squad is balanced?! I figured drafting those 3 bigs consecutively cause they're all legit 20/10 guys. Then I wentwith the Rajon and Monta for points, steals, assists and then JR and Jet for 3's. Do you think I'm lacking in any area?! Thanks in advance.

P.S. Yeah, it's a 10 man league.

hahah yeah, our league gets intense cause all of us talk smack to each other about our teams. I finished 3rd overall last year in our league, teamwas plagued by injuries (boozer, jsmoove, and dunleavy barely playing
indifferent.gif
) but Kenyon does get slept on, I got him in the last round
smokin.gif

I'm targeting Russell Westbrook, picked him up last year off waivers and he was a gem. I'm trying to unload one of SF's though, but I dunno whichone. I really like Thaddeus and C. Lee as sleepers this year cause their game can only go up with the situations on their teams. I hope Andre Miller getstraded too because I don't like the whole situation in Portland right now and that would mean 3 pure PG's on my team. A lot of guys fell to me in ourleague also, VC in the 5th and CV in the 8th. Really good value picks for me. Any help with the PG situation would be great paul, but I want to see your teamman, let us help you instead too of you helping all of us

I think it's pretty balanced NED, a lot of people don't like Rondo cause of his poor FT % but he's a stat filler in about everything else. I thinkhe's going to take a step in his jumpshot too. I was watching training camp and preseason and it seems he's worked on it during the offseason. But whoelse could you have drafted in the 3rd round other than EB, cause this is a 10 team league, and EB fell to the 4th round in my 12 team league. I also hopedunleavy can play, but I think he's out until Nov. so maybe you should drop him for now. Try and pick up Brandon Rush since he's most likely thestarter with Dunleavy out or C.Lee, he's only the SG for the Nets that has upside.

I had the 2nd to last pick in the 3rd round and these are the players I could have gotten,

Jason Kidd
Brook Lopez
Ray Allen
Shard Lewis
Josh Smith
LaMarcus Aldridge
Gerald Wallace
David Lee
Vince Carter

I know 2 of my top 3 picks are coming off surgery but I feel they are going back to their true form and as I stated they're legit 20/10 guys. I draftedDunleavy with my last pick based on potential, that'd he be back to his 07 form but if it doesn't it's all good since it was my last pick. Butthanks for the input.

I think you're lacking in assists. You got people who can play PG but don't tally up the assists. Like Iverson and Monta. Don't get mewrong, getting Iverson where you got him was great, but you are lacking in assists. I think you did very well for yourself.

Yeah man, target Westbrook. I really like what he can do this season. Especially with the addition of Harden. He's got a lot of weapons on histeam.

A lot like Westbrook, Jameer Nelson has a lot of weapons, too.

How about Steph Curry? I know it's pre-season, but from what I saw in pre-season, he has the ability to run a team. He's the best passer the Warriorsgot. How highly is he being regarded in your league?

I don't have a team yet. My drafts are next week.

I really like those first 2 picks anyways even if they are coming off surgery. I'm assuming Dwight was gone already cause I would have takenhim over Stat, but you can't go wrong with either. He's also wearing goggles now so no need for concern about him getting poked in the eye again. Ihave Al Jefferson in 1 of my leagues as well and I"m sure he'll return back to form, he's too talented not too.

The 1 person that sticks out too me that you could have drafted is Gerald Wallace, dude was an absolute beast last year, and with Okafor gone, his numbers canonly climb. But I understand the strategy you wanted for your team, build a core of BIGs and find serviceable PG's in the later rounds, but owning at least1 Elite PG would have been great. Other than that, your team is pretty balanced, find another PG who can rack up assists though, monta doesn't throw enoughof them. Chalmers would be a nice fit or Russell Westbrook, they both have a lot of upside this year.

Yeah, I'm going after Westbrook, he went so early in my league, 4th round, I was so mad
laugh.gif
but I'm still determined to get him. I would take a shot at Jameer, but Ihave VC and Dwight already, not trying to have 3 guys from the same team.

I like Curry a lot too, but some of my friends drafted all the rookie PG's (Evans, Jennings, Curry, and Flynn) are all gone in my league. I personally stayaway from the rookies, they all go through the learning curve. So I guess everyone in my league are all the rookie PG's nuts
laugh.gif

O really, for sure. Post your team so I can critique it just you did with mine
laugh.gif

But I got offered Mo Williams for Charlie V. I honestly do not like Mo Williams, cause all he does is score and make 3's and my team already has enough ofthat, plus I hate Cleveland
laugh.gif
CV is the best PF the pistons have and Isee him logging 35-40 minutes, so I'm keeping him for now. I want to see how moves around in preseason before I trade him away.

I lost track of how many Magic players you had.
laugh.gif

I asked about how highly he's being regarded in your league. If he's available at the right price, then go for it. I understand the learning curve andalso later on in the season, hitting the rookie wall, so yeah, if the price is right, then yeah.

I will post my teams once I draft them. You can be sure about that.

Yeah, Mo Williams wouldn't really fit a need for you. I'd keep Charlie Villanueva, as well.
