And there is a damn good chance the Angels could be up in this series if they still had K-Rod...
But good job Fuentes, most relievers choke and walk batters in a spot like that.

On everything, these !*%#$# better end it Saturday. They already ruined my plans for that night...go to the movies, catch a bird, bring 'em to the coop...but nope.
Again...I see where y'all are coming from with Hughes and Joba but I had NO problem having AJ out there in the 7th inning. Yes, he had a terrible 1st inning. He turned it around after that tho, remember? I know y'all ain't got short term memory. Dude was like at 80 something pitches, which is good at that stage of the game. So you leave him out there assuming he was gonna pitch the same way he's been pitching from the 2nd on...have Hughes and Joba in the bullpen...as SOON as he walks someone or allows a hit, you yank him.
AJ put two guys on base but ultimately it was Hughes that lost the game, not him.

He got Damon out on a hard hit ball. Cool. Teix swings at the first pitch like a dummy (). Two outs...you have to intentionally walk A-Rod. He then walks Matsui. He HITS Cano. He gets to a 3-2 count with Nick *+@*$+% Swisher. And then he throws a fastball right down the MIDDLE...honestly, if it was anyone else in the lineup up there besides Swish, we're probably talking about a different game now. But of course Swish pops it up like a *%%$@+.
Swish bailed him out. Fuentes still sucks.
Nah I wouldn't say that. They got 6 runs w/ 2 outs in the top of the 7th after being down by 4...a championship caliber team wouldn't dothat. I'm not gonna !!** on the whole team...it's just a few guys that %$!%#% it up for the rest tonight.Originally Posted by KingFoamNYC
as of now I see no killer instinct with this team. Championship caliber teams need that

In the regular season his fastball was unhittable at 96,97 with great control. During the playoffs and tonight not only was his fastball sitting at a pedestrian 94 but his control was off.

Dude never hit 97 on the gun consistently, hell I never even seen him do it once. He was 96 tops. 93-95 was more his avg when he was a reliever. 90-92 when he was a reliever. He should have gave Vlad either a Changeup or another curve. Still would like to know why he gave him the heater. Or even that cutter that he's worked on so hard this past year.
