His injury looked like a result from not playing enough ironically. If he was loose and had more games under his belt I doubt he mysteriously injures his calf like that.
He's definitely going t resolve his lack of playing issues from the bench...

The injury is day to day according to the Celts. If I'm Doc after some deep tissue massages I play Shaq for 15 minutes in the next game

Lemme ask yall....

What's your honest opinion as to why Denver is surging minus Melo?  You would think that with all the new players the acquired, struggles would ensue.  ESPECIALLY after losing a player of Melo's talent.  On the flip, Melo has been scoring in NY...but the team hasn't performed up to expectations.  This is what he wanted....and the pressure is only going to intensify with each year that passes minus a championship.

NY Daily News already had an article calling Melo, Marbury 2.0 LOL

Marbury 2.0

*Oh yeah....Jordan Crawford 23/5/3

Better ball movement, better defense and deeper than every team. Also, I was watching the post game interview of the Lakers, they're first reactions were the Nuggets just seem more together as a team than the first two times they played with Melo/Chauncey.

What's going on with fan night? The Bobcats vs. Cavilers? Is this real life? Are there only 2 games tuesday?

Those dudes are clowns though cause they were the same ones clamoring for him for months.  It's not hard to see why Denver is flourishing and to point at Melo as the sole reason is wrong.  Chauncey leaving was as big as anything, letting Lawson run the show and the kid can run an offense as good as anyone not named CP3, plus everybody on their team is an above-average player.  They literally have no guy who your hear his name and go "he sucks."  Basketball is a team game and they are a "real team," any guy can be "the guy," on any given night.  That will take you a long way.  The NBA is booming with talent now.  This isn't the 90's/earl 00's where one superstar or all-star and you were a good team.  It takes multiple pieces.  I think Denver would be San Antonio in a series. Plus those guys are mostly young and still developing, they're not going anywhere anytime soon.

What are your expectations as a Knicks fan?  Do you have faith in Melo?

Seems like George Karl REALLY enjoys coaching now....

There's a full slate of games because of no games tomorrow. don't know why that game was picked. Thunder/Nuggets, Bulls/Suns, Sixers/Celtics would have been better.

faith in Melo (& Amare)...starting next year to take this team to 2nd round, and maybe ECF's eventually down the line..sure.

win a championship? nope.

but after the past 10 years, I really can't be upset about that. I will be eventually, but not right now.

Do I think we gave up too much to get Melo? Sure

Do I think the trade is a failure and am I going to overreact like one these ******ed NYC Sports fans/media members? No

At the end of the day we gave a guy $100M with bad knees who had a short window of high play. We needed to make a move for a star along side that guy. You still need firepower in the NBA come playoffs and when 'Melo is cooking theres maybe only a couple guys in the league who can match him. The problemw itht he Knicks is depth/coaching. We need a coach who can get Melo/Stat to commit to D and that is certainly not going to be D'antoni. We are also woefully undersized and lack any depth on the front-line the biggest problem with the team. STAT playing Center is a recipe that will take you nowhere. Size wins in this leaugue and havin a real center would do wonders for STAT and 'Melo. Also just adding a couple guys around them on the bench who could play will make a big difference as well.

As much as it pains me to say this, the Knicks have to think long and hard about signing Greg Oden this summer. We have made "all-in" moves and playing it safe isn't going to do anything for us at this point except turn us into the Hawks. While the potential of us losing two guys to devastating knee injuries is there with that move, so is the chance at a Championship if Oden plays up to potential.

An injured center is not an option when we can throw money at serviceable centers like Dalembert and Pryzbilla. As well as better ones in Tyson and Marc.

If we're gonna consider Oden might as well consider Yao since when healthy he's obviously better.

Joel Prybilla isn't healthy either and Tyson Chandler, Marc Gasol and Samuel Dalembert will command money long term.

Best bet could be Robin Lopez. He might be worse than Mozgov but he did compliment Amare well in Phoenix, so there might be hope.

Tyson and Marc would be 1st options but there not going anywhere.

Yao makes no sense even if he was healthy we need a guy to be a defensive force at Center at Yao isn't going to do that.  I'm not saying you sign Oden but I would def bring him in for a physical/workout and see where he is...The guy is 23 and could be very cheap possibly.  And when he has played he has been the second best center defensively after Dwight.  Signing Oden is swinging for the fences and to be honest, that are the moves we made by getting 'Melo/

Blazers outworking the Mavs.

Aldridge is going to feast if they match up in the first round. He's averaged 31 PPG vs them this season and has 14 at halftime tonight.

I really hope this is the match up.  I think that is the only team the Blazers could beat in the 1st round and maybe once they get into the 2nd they can get some confidence and who knows what could happen.

I agree with those saying your teams should look at Oden, before he went down last year he was more than serviceable and he still has upside.  He just needs to drop some weight when he comes back which apparently he is working on.  Blazers will also have the right to match any offer made by another team.  I would like to have him stay here in Portland because with a center playing along side Aldridge that is an actual scoring threat the Blazers could end up being the team to beat alongside the Lakers.

I see why the Mavs contingent on S&T were waving the white flag a couple of pages ago.

That team is struggling right now.

Like I said before, the Mavs don't play a style that wins in the playoffs...and they haven't for about 5 years now. It should have been a red flag last season, after they made those trades and got a decent center and decent SF and still got handled in the playoffs by the Spurs, who then went on to get dominated vs. the Suns in the next round. The Blazers are more built to make a playoff run than the Mavs, overall. They're just as deep and have a much more balanced roster.

The Mavs' "strength" was supposed to be their depth but depth in the playoffs isn't as valuable as in the regular season though because rotations get shorter. In the playoffs, it comes down to 2-3 players you trust to be able to carry the scoring burden for the offense. The Blazers have LA, Wallace, Wes Matthews and even Andre Miller is capable of going off for 20+. Meanwhile, the Mavs' only guarantee is Dirk.

I'd love to be able to just break up everything and try to make one last push in Dirk's last 3 years here to get that one #2 scorer but the Mavs no longer have any assets and quite frankly, there's not much available. Maybe Granger but the Mavs have nothing the Pacers would want.

Why Dirk & Nash decided to be loyal to those teams this summer I have no clue, those dudes showed loyalty for no reason and they'll regret it when their both sitting at home soon enough.

I bet Cuban will try and extend the Mav's window in 2012 by trading for Brandon Roy.

He would never go after him before injury. Now, since he's not going to be nowhere near as good as he use to, he will go after him.
