a lot of people were just going off what Durant did at the World's. Impressive without question, but i think last year they surprised people last year and now they are having a tough time living up to expectations. They definitely aren't contenders thoughOriginally Posted by JapanAir21

Were they REALLY that close last year?
They were about as close as Phoenix was, or how close ATL was against the C's in 08.
They had a couple good games, they won a few, and a few games were close, but, that happens every damn year.

I'll give the Lakers the benefit of the doubt, being back-to-back champs, and I'd still consider them a heavy favorite over any team in the West right now despite their record, but not Oklahoma fricking City.
They need size on that team if they EVER want to make noise.
It's not that I hate OKC or anything, but they just ain't ready to make noise anywhere.

Yeah everybody wants to go off on what they did in the playoffs. We all know if that went to a seven game the Lakers was gonna blow them out. There a good team but eventually they will need a big that can score. Maybe Dwight in 2012 if things in Orlando dosen't work out? Even though Westbrook has improved the Lakers hands down wins the west. Only thing stopping them is if they feel like turning that switch on. And we all know that's all there waiting for. Okc has some learning to do before we can call them legit contenders.
