Thats the only positive from that game. Mavs played to within 2 points of Miami without their 2nd best player Butler, the backup center in Haywood, and what was supposed to be a key piece this season in Roddy B. Dont think many other teams could say that.

With that said, Mavs should activate Butler. Him on one leg is a better option than Peja at this point. Dude is a -21 for the series...

Peja is useless...I don't know what more RC has to see to realize it. He's too slow to contribute, LeBron ain't even working hard to guard him as Peja is "jogging" off the ball to try to get open. The only potential benefit of having Peja would be if Dirk was also in the game because then that's the only way Peja could get open looks due to the attention Dirk gets. But when Peja is coming in for Dirk...I don't see how he is of any use on offense because no one is gonna get him an open look.

And Dallas did change their strategy on Wade in the last 2 minutes, they forced it out of his hands but Haslem and Bosh stepped up and made the shots. You can't leave Kidd on him 1 on 1 though...Kidd is giving Wade too much room because he's scared of getting beat on the drive but Wade is just dribbling and stepping into a pull-up jumper in rhythm.

Mavs had a chance when the game was tied though, then Dirk passed it off to Terry and he missed it. I don't expect Terry to get it going at all with LeBron and Wade guarding him...I'll be shocked if he gets 20. The key to shutting Terry down has always been to put a bigger guard on him and to play physical. His handles are weak and his decision-making is suspect, which is why you saw him turn the ball over so much in games 1 and 2 and would always miss Chandler or Marion inside tonight.

I'd rather see Corey Brewer getting minutes than Peja. His speed and athleticism will make up for the few pounds and height he lacks.
