Official 2013 NBA Draft Thread

As soon as Miami signed Myck Kabongo after the draft, I thought to myself "They should go after Jackie Carmichael too". In a perfect world they'd make the team but it's doubtful. DJ Stephens also signed on with the Heat.

Apparently Boozer's little brother named Charles gonna play with the Bulls summer league team. :lol

Jeremy Lamb should be primed and ready to take home Vegas league MVP honors. Can't wait :hat

They just invited him to their summer league camp, they didn't sign myck.

Still dont know how Myck aint get drafted, I think if he goes to the right team he can use his speed and vision to be solid off the bench...**** the Pacers coulda put him in to handle the pressure that Hill was struggling with :lol

and my mans Selby gonna put in work at Summer League again :hat ...all for nothing tho probly :lol

I mean sign on to play on the summer league squad bruh. I know they aren't gonna make the team unfortunately, but him and Carmichael would be perfect additions to the squad.

A few players are gonna play on two teams. I know players have done this before, but I don't think anyone has done it in the same league. :eek

The more I think about adams pick the more I'm ok with it. OKC already got a few potential scorers/wing players waiting in the wings in Jones and Lamb, while they badly need an interior presence to make up for Perkins historically inept self. Adams can hopefully be a banger who defends and can decently finish off easy lobs and dump offs from KD and Russ, something that no big on the team other than Collison can do.

They definitely lost the Harden trade, but jury's still out on how Lamb and Adams will pan out.
If they wanted an interior presence...Dieng would have been a better fit.

Dieng is pretty near what he's going to be.. But with adams, what's the worst case scenario?

He's an athletic dude who will get you boards and play defense and can finish stuff within close proximity of the rim (and is legit 7 footer).. Guess what, that's better than what we are getting from Perkins..

I hoped Aldrich would have been able to learn from Perkins and then be able to step in and replace him.. Since they were/are both undersized centers who would be asked to do the same things.. Things I thought Aldrich would be capable of.. Play defense, set screens, grab rebounds and finish/clean up around the rim.. But he was a walking foul and didn't seem to have a natural feel and wasn't fast enough on his feet to make up for that lack of instinctiveness

Anyways, Perkins can't jump that quickly or that high, so he misses a ton of rebounds.. Then he has terrible hands.. And because of his lack of jumping ability, easy dunks become iffy jump hooks.. Or even worse when he thinks it's a good idea to take a jump shot

Adams will bang bodies and at least use his athleticism to play defense and get rebounds and putbacks.. But considering his limited basketball experience I'm willing to take the risk.. Especially considering we were a 60 win team last year with what Perkins gave us..

And we didn't get blown out the water by the rockets or grizzlies when Westbrook went down

On a team where you have like 3-4 "potential" guys on the roster already...is someone being near what he's going to be a bad thing? He can step in right away. With Adams...now they just have yet another guy they HOPE can be a player one day.

At the end of the day...at team that should be in WIN NOW mode...should be using every opportunity to field their roster with guys who can help them WIN NOW.

Here's to hoping Rodney Williams locks onto a team and makes it to the All-Star break.

i dont think deing can step in right away.. deing fits the same mold of aldrich, limited upside guys who should be solid at what they do/give you.. deing will still have to get acclimated to the NBA game

i'd rather take the extra year or two it may take for stevens to develop for the chance at him harnessing the potential that he has.. honestly, adams will probably spend all of next year in tulsa.. and then in his second year he'll start to get some NBA mins since perkins and collison will be expiring after that season.. hopefully in his 3rd year he'll be ready to be our starting center

realisticly, we go into next season with our starting 5 set (westbrook, thabo, kd, ibaka and perkins.. as much as i hate saying that last name).. then we have our main 3 guys off the bench (reggie jackson, collison and lamb).. then other guys like (liggins and pj3.. and then thabeet and orton)

Saw some tape on Myck, if the heat do end up signing him he could potentially be a key guy off the bench seeing how they're entire bench seems to be nearing the age of 40

Myck got that invite because he's close with Bron. Hopefully he makes the squad, that suspension really ****** his draft stock up. I believe if he played the whole year he could have been a late 1st
