Because Dirk is still a better player than him.
There's only one PF in the NBA better than Dirk. That's Love. But Dirk still does things that other good PFs don't. Teams shift their entire focus to Dirk, and in return Dirk makes his teammates better.
Blake, Love, and other good PFs don't make their teams better like Dirk can. He's a leader.

Asik/Houston's worst contract for Okafor/Ariza makes alot of sense with OkAriza coming off the books at the end of the season.

I think Aldridge would be a better fit with Howard. Dat midrange is automatic
Brooks is only there for insurance. I don't see him getting minutes unless it's a blowout, or Mchale rolls with a small lineup that will feature Lin as the 2 and Brooks/Beverley splitting minutes at point. knowing Mchale, Canaan will likely spend his rookie season in the d-league
