Stash CMike now.
Michael Irvin was asked about Christine Michael during an appearance on 105.3-FM’s G-Bag Nation this week.:
"I don't know enough about him but Marshall (Faulk) told me, he said, 'Hey man, just listen. I'm going to say it, it's my job. I'll tell the truth. He'll be starting in a couple weeks. That boy is bad,’” Irvin said, per the Dallas Morning News. “He said, 'Michael, that boy is bad. I'm telling you right now.' He said, 'Man, he was hiding up there.
“They found something.' He said he's got dog in him. He's got that dog in him. I said, 'He got that dog in him?' He said, 'Man, he's got real dog in him. He got some real dog in him.'”
Irvin's words carry 0 weight.
Listen, folks. It's Randle's job to lose. McFadden is the COP back and Dunbar is squarely entrenched as the team's passing down back.
This is a RBBC and the fact is Christine Michael's game just lacks the nuances to make him a reliable bellcow back, even behind Dallas's offensive line.
I get it, he's a fantasy football folk hero. But he's not going to simply leapfrog both Randle and McFadden.
The story makes for great click-bait in fantasy circles, but even Irvin himself conceded he doesn't know much about Michael, he just took Faulk's word for it. Faulk was simply offering conjecture. Michael has some great tools, and he certainly passes the eye-test, but he can't catch, he can't pass-block, and he isn't a great fit for the Cowboy's ZBS.
Pro Tip: One of the reasons he could never carve out a significant role in Seattle (Besides Beastmode) was that Seattle had their own ZBS that Michael simply couldn't grasp properly.
He's just a waste of a roster spot unless you're in a very deep league.
