Yeah I don't think it's an overreaction to say GS is going to murder the west. People been saying they since that since they got kd. It's not like people just stared saying that over a preseason game
.

It's like saying people are overreacting to say Cavs will be in the finals. Book it.

Knicks are a brand new team with no defensive scheme or offensive system playing in their first preseason game together

The fact that u put a lot of stock into that is hilarious to say that least

What the rockets did last night is what they will did in the regular season. They were running their offense and playing their superstar player legit minutes

Rockets don't have a a lot of gelling, meshing, and learning to do.

The Knicks do.

GSW are a bunch of betas and front runners and when **** gets tight they crumble. This year it might happen against the rockets before they even get to Cleveland

Lmao what's going on here? I made a joke about why you were praising the Rockets and I didn't even comment on the Knicks performance.

If I were a Knick fan, I wouldn't be happy seeing all the strict Triangle sets they ran though.

I'm still skeptical of the rockets for a couple reasons. For one dantoni teams are notorious for letting opponents back into games. Teams will copy their blueprint midgame and run their system just as well as them. If it happened with those Suns teams it will happen to them, these rockets are not as good as those suns. Another thing is they have so many injury prone guys on the squad and I feel like they will over rely on harden. They have no one to run the offense when he sits unless Tyler Ennis steps up big time. Mda will probably make dudes like Dekker and wiltjer look like hall of famers tho. But their lack of defense will make their offense almost a net neutral. They'll start off hot but will start cracking by January.

Also don't take either of last night's ESPN games too seriously. Both winning teams were on their second games against teams playing for the first time. None of them are as good or bad as they appeared

Yea I'm not getting up for anything til December/January. Corey Brewer had an embarrassing awful season last year, but suddenly two pre-season games in I'm supposed to be in awe of how well he's played? Man please :lol :lol

I just really enjoy watching Larry Nance. He'll find his way into minutes and might cut into other people's

the system got Harrison Barnes wide open shots. He proceeded to shoot 5-32 over the last three games.

Durant, career 27 ppg on 48/38 splits, will be taking those open shots now.

And you need to rewatch those last 4 mins again. Score was tied up at 89 then:

Steph got a WIIIIIIDE open three off the ball.

Klay got the smaller Kyrie switched onto him.

Iguodala open corner three.

Barnes had an open corner three but had no confidence after only making 5 of his last 32 shots so he pump faked them passed it to a wide open Dray for 3. Remember Barnes is now replaced by Durant.

Barnes guarded by Love so Steph runs with a pick n pop with Barnes.... except Barnes is 5-32 over the last 3 games and just passed on an open corner 3 so Steph ignores the open Barnes and fires up a step back 3. Remember Barnes is now replaced by Durant.

Kyrie then hits that 3 to give CLE the lead.

Next GSW possession they run action to get Love on Steph. As he dances at the top, both Barnes and Iggy are open. Remember Barnes is now replaced by Durant.

System did what it was supposed to do. Frankly, those last 4 mins go a little differently if Durant is out there.

I don't disagree and they are a substantial favorite but to play devil's advocate...

The system probably doesn't stay the same. KD is not going to sit in a corner waiting for his turn. They probably play a lot more isolation this year. Draymond likely gets squeezed a bit on offense and isn't the same play-maker in PNR.

That probably doesn't make them worse but I don't think they'll be the same. Their offense is going to become more simple and in turn should be more simple to defend. It's just their guys are better than your's.

..
I would be surprised if they won more than, say..67. 2 deep runs and going on a 3rd with a few guys who are older now or have had injuries in the past.

Like in OKC, I think we'll see Durant get subbed out early so he can anchor the second unit and be happy with his isos.

One preseason game is meaningless, but the Rockets have a new coach, new system, and started 2 guys last night who weren't on the team last year. Not sure why there wouldn't be a learning curve for them but there would for the Knicks.

still crazy that the w's got KD and improved on a 73w team that was 1 win from a chip. :lol
interesting to see if dray is as involved with the offense. he'll still probably be able to create in transition when he gets the boards and push it

I fully expect Dray to sabotage the team if he doesn't get touches.
Before or after ASB?
Oh, and anyone passing judgement after just watching 1 preseason needs to stop watching basketball. It's the preseason, guys!
This usually holds true, but Clippers deserve every judgement today. True or Not, hot take or not.

That was, I have no words....speechless

I feel like this Rose legal situation is gonna go south. In a bad way.

Just been 2 preseason games but all the open shots barnes was taking from 3 last year, klay's been getting those so far this preseason. Yikes!

Per Fizdale: "Zbo will be coming off the bench this year."

Zbo is embracing the role (a role he didn't embrace with Joerger because Joeger's approach was probably terrible) :lol

Makes the bench stronger and it'll give Zbo a chance to go after 6th man of the year. Zbo about to dominate opposing teams backup big men :lol

painful as hell to watch the warriors last night.

i still see dissension looming...no way this team coasts to a title

Well, no KD won't be waiting in the corner often. The point is, whoever is in that corner is a better shooter than Harrison Barnes. It'll probably be Thompson, or Curry. Thompson had 81% of his shots assisted last year, higher than DeAndre Jordan. I expect that number to go even higher.

Any curl, pin down, or floppy action involving Durant is going to cause more chaos than if it involved Barnes.

And when KD is on the ball, he's being flanked by two guys who combined for a record shattering 700 threes in 82 games, along with another 38% shooter at the 4.

So where's the help coming from?

And why wouldn't Dray be the same playmaker in the PnR? A Durant/Dray PnR is no less dangerous than the Steph/Dray. Durant won MVP in large because he showed great decision making ability out of that staple play. I think Dray will be involved heavily in the pnr.

Health provided I think 67 is too low. 3rd deep run but these guys are young. Still have a few years before 30.

Prime overreactions already, y'all in mid season form. :hat

Even by NT standards, this is impressive :lol

Hate to bring up the Finals again, but those last 4 minutues was on Steve Kerr. Albeit, Curry was hunting for a three and Barnes having no business out there.

As soon as Kyrie hit that 3 to take the lead, Steve Kerr needed to call a timeout immediately. There was still maybe 40-50 seconds left on the clock. And it's not like the Warriors were already in some sort of offensive rhythm where you justify not calling a time out and letting them play through. You're meaning to tell me the Warriors don't have plays they can draw up to get them a quick 2? The Cavs were already struggling on offense from that point on, and only got the momentum once Curry danced around Love.

I couldn't agree anymore but losing that finals, might have won the Warriors 5 more. imo there's no way betaboy KD would have gone to the Dubs if they won the ship.
