Thats some gaudy numbers from Blake. i aint even remember that. Those 2nd round exits clouded my judgement

Blake has had some transcendant moments when healthy, honestly he'd be better on a team without Chris Paul.

Would also be better if Doc staggered the minutes better so he could have more time as primary ballhandler.

Blake just has to stay on the court man.

Very talented, but very fragile. Been like that from day 1.

82 games post redshirt year, every game during the lockout season, and 82 games in the next two seasons. outside of his rookie season and doing something stupid off the floor last year, I'm not sure fragile is right word to use.
Missed his entire rookie season.

Year 2 had arguably the best statistical rookie season since Bron/Reke & played all 82. Very impressive.

Year 3, plays all the reg season games, but sprained his knee in the playoffs & looked like a shell of himself. Limped past MEM, got swept by SAS.

Year 4, played 80 games, but severely hurt his ankle in the Grizz series & was a complete shell of himself. Couldn't get past MEM this time.

Year 5, his best season start to finish. Played 80 games, didn't get hurt in the playoffs. Might've eliminated OKC if Paul hadn't choked in G5.

Year 6, missed nearly 20 games in the reg season. Houston finishes ahead of them in the standings. Which is important because even though they went up 3-1 in the series, 2 of the last 3 games are in Houston.

And then of course this past season where he partially tore his quad, missed three months, & couldn't finish the season.

So 5/7 seasons he's either missed time due to injuries, looked like a shell of himself because of them, or both.

Amazing talent, but yes, he's fragile.

Well Clippers medical staff goofed on his quad injury but yea besides that and his failed boxing career, he's been durable.

What are James Harden MVP odds looking like?

I really like that bet.

Low. Considering Houston shouldn't be a top 4 seed in the West or have a top 5-6 record in the league

We went over this Blake Griffin injury thing about 1.5 months ago :lol . I already know how this is going to end.

They definitely can though, it just really depends on if they can get the rim protection from Capela for 30+ mins a night and Anderson staying healthy.

They are going to be a juggernaut on offense.

EJ always misses games, Anderson always misses games, Capela is an unknown at 30+ mins a night.

Not saying it's impossible, but you'd have to be fairly optimistic to have HOU 4th.

Gordon has had freak injuries like hand and eye things, he hasn't been dealing with lower body injuries.

Anderson's health is the only question mark.

Capela will be better defensively than Dwight so it's a start.

& like I said, there isn't 3 teams in the league better offensively.

Gordon has missed a significant amount of games every single season of his career outside of his rookie season.

Freak accidents or not, chances are he will miss at leats 20 or more games this year. The numbers show it. The same goes for Ryan.

Houston will be fun to watch, but I think its important to know duplicating a successful run n gun offense and being elite (without a decent defense) is still a hard thing to do.

They have Harden / Anderson / Gordon / Ariza that will carry the majority of the offensive load. Then, you have guys like Bev / Brewer / Nene / KJ off the bench with Capela manning the middle in hte starting unit. Just a lot of question marks outside of the top 4 guys. Even when looking at the top 4, the history of injuries for 2 out of the 4 is not good at all. We aren't talking about 1 year or even 2 years worth of injuries at that.

Just a hard team to gauge right now with so many factors looming over them.

New coach
New system
New players
Slight transition for positions with Harden
Injury history
Defense?
True depth?
Bench scoring?

I wouldn't say fragile....but he gets hurt at the WORST possible times :{

Freak injuries or not, if you miss 20+ games every year for 7 consecutive years, I'm certainly not betting on you to suddenly play all 82.

And again, we have no idea what Capela looks like at starters mins night in & night out.

If EJ & Anderson stay healthy & Clint can handle the mins, it's possible. But again, you'd have to pretty optimistic to believe all of that & have them 4th.

Harden is good for 42 wins himself

Pringles isn't going to be turning up with the team at birthday parties. Gordon should be at least motivated to play through his minor injuries

Gordon hated his life in NO and was probably hurting himself on purpose honestly. :lol

They shoulda just let him walk when he signed the offer sheet with PHX.

yeah ima need to see hous play before they top 3 anything.

after gs , everything in the west is a toss up, so they could very well be that but i need to see that first.  . .
