Don't think Miami can score enough to get to 40ish wins. Their defense is certainly good though.

So the Atlanta Hawks are 7-2. Beat the Cavs.

Y'all still sleeping on them as the 2nd best team in the East?

What was it about Boston being so much better? 8o 8o

:lol

Hawks are good, no denying it.

If Dwight can stay healthy they are going to be a tough out in a 7 game series for the Cavs.

Still think they need another perimeter player, not sold on Korver/Baze come playoff time but Thabo has been amazing for them defensively.

Also bud looking like Pop Lite with Teague and Carroll leaving and turning into dumpster fires.

I mean if you looked at the hawks objectively it was obvious tho ...Dwight is still one of the top centers when healthy, Schroeder and Teague played at the same level last season so that wasn't gon a be a drop off, Milsap is nice and they went out and got a bunch of athletic players to come off the bench...the suprise is hardaway playing better, nobody expected that

East is the cavs....then derozan and the hawks fighting to lose to them in the playoffs, n the sixers the worst team once again :lol

i mean , many thought howard was washed. so wasnt that easy to see them being as nice as they have been.,
Dwight wasn't bad in Houston.
N even "washed" Dwight is STILL one of the best centers in the league on the floor n statistically :lol ...he's just been hurt sometimes , n the fans/media let his demeanor n relationship with teammates overshadow his actual performance

I remember there was an article in ESPN mag talking about how smart Rondo is, on & off the court. He was really good at math or something like that. He also picks up playbooks really fast for both his team & the team he's playing against.

All that brainpower & he can't figure out how to properly shoot from ANYWHERE. free throws, midrange, corner 3. ANYWHERE.

Embiid is 22 years old w/ 3 point range and he didn't even touch a ball until he was 16 :lol

Rondo definitely is intelligent but that doesn't help you rewire years of muscle memory/body mechanics.

Son been shooting the wrong way since he picked up a basketball and never changed it.

If Dell Curry doesn't totally rebuild Steph shot while he was in HS, we not talking about him right now.

Embiid is different, obviously the guy is just special, he has "it".

Not only that but not playing basketball until 16 actually helped him, he had the agility and body mechanics of a guy much smaller because he played sports for smaller men.

That's part of the reason why it was so easy for him to pick up skills that are much harder for the average prospect with his body. He's basically an open book, he's only played 3 years of organized basketball before this season so he doesn't have any bad habits that he can't change.

If he started earlier and got pigeonholed into being a big the traditional way I doubt he's the type of talent he is now.

We saw similar things with Duncan and Hakeem who both picked up the game late.

This game against Cleveland should be a good barometer for how real Charlotte is
