OFFICIAL 2016 @HEAT PLAYOFF THREAD

Not going to be too many "easy" wins with this team. We almost lost to the sixers among other things. Refs killed us at the end but regardless, not a good performance. Offensively, we got ideal contributions from everybody:

Dragic-20,9
Bosh-18,9
Wade-26,9,7
Whiteside-14

Obviously can't give up 113 points.

I agree, this Heat team is not elite. No easy wins this season. The east is very competitive and this team is still learning how to win. One good thing is they are sharing the ball and they shot really well.

As for Whiteside, I can understand Spo's decision not to play him. The Wizards were playing with 4 guards and a small forward out there. Whiteside would've gotten ate up trying to guard the three point line... It's a lose, lose scenario. Give credit to the Wiz, they are fast and keep you on your toes.

Turnovers are the thing that continues to haunt this team. They really need to clean that up.

So you guys rather lose like we did then force them to have 6"7 Otto Porter cover him in the paint? Not only that, they got like 7 layups at the rim uncontested...

Why conform to another team then have them conform to us? It was working in the 2nd and 3rd quarter, why walk away from what worked just to get out played in the 4th quarter when Whiteside sat on the bench???

I guess that's not a coincident right?

Heat fans let me ask ya'll a question because everyone seems to be focusing on Whiteside not playing and how crazy Spo is....

How come no one is mentioning how Bosh is not dominating Dudley down the stretch of that game? If the other team is playing small and Whiteside is out, Bosh should be feasting on the block and dominating. That is how you force the team to conform to you.

Bosh, a quick big man, had trouble guarding the three and keeping his guy in front of him. What do ya'll think is gonna happen to Whiteside?

No one is even mentioning the back to back turnovers by Wade and Dragic? The Wizards capitalized off of this team's many turnovers. If the Heat were not so sloppy with the ball they probably win this game. Even with Whiteside sitting out the 4th.

They played bad, I understand... but there's literally no reason to sit Hassan when they are starting a sf at center. If you are going to lose that game, you lose it with your center on the floor... all season, Spo has showed poor trust to Hassan and a game like this highlights the reality of the situation

Just got back from the game, the atmosphere was electric during the comeback run. TO by Wade then the bad call by the ref started the downfall

And is it me or does Gary Neal not miss against us?

Cannot excuse Spo tonight. There has to be a wire loose in his brain to play Whiteside so little in the second half. HOW'S HE SUPPOSED TO GET BETTER ON THE BENCH!?

These haters can't hold him byke!!

You see that's were your arguement losses credibility. You're comparing Bosh to Whiteside? Why? Just based on height alone?

They're two totally different basketball players. That's like comparing Winslow to Wade. Whiteside lives in the paint. He's a true Center versus Bosh is that new age PF who shoots 3s and plays outside the paint.

We had this team on it's heels with Whiteside in the game. Don't know if you saw the postgame press conference but Ira Windermen and another Journalist questioned Spo's tactics of giving Whiteside no 4th quarter minutes.

Why you're are excusing that nonsense questions me for even debating with you.

First off calm down... You said it yourself, Whiteside lives in the paint. How do you expect him to guard Ramone Sessions, Otto Porter, or Dudley on the perimeter? I never said it was the right decision to keep him out, if you read my earlier post, I said its a lose, lose situation. Play Whiteside and the Wizards will feast from the perimeter or drive right past Whiteside. Don't play him and we have guys like you calling Spo crazy... :lol

Turnovers played a bigger factor for why this team lost, IMO.

In any loss you question the coaching, the players, pretty much everything. I'm just asking heat fans to look at it from a different perspective. Whiteside has played down the stretch in games and has even gotten triple doubles and this team lost. It's not always as simple as some of ya'll are making it out to be.

First off calm down? :lol yes sir! calming down sir!!

The way how you go about your philosophies on things in this heat thread you must be very superstitious. What goes up must come down. It's just that simple to you huh?

You don't think Whiteside isn't going to rome out to the 3 point line and cover nobody? But stay in the paint and constantly get 3 second violations? Don't be so simple.

You brought up the comparisons to Bosh and Whiteside, saying how Bosh should've "feasted" against Dudley but didn't. Then you blame Wades and Dragics turnovers as aspects to us losing? But you bring up me calling out Dragics bad sets of games in the past as me just complaining??

Dude you're all over the place. On tonight's loss, all I complained about was Spo's inept coaching. Something just about we all can agree on but you.

With that said, I'm out! See you Wednesday with my "complaints" if we lose :lol

I call it like I see. Its just annoying when I see so many "hot takes" without context or nuance. And I get it, we get emotional because we all want the Heat to succeed. I'm simply giving my opinion from my perspective. If we disagree, its all good. I'm not basketball expert so I could be dead wrong

But I do know Spo is not trying to lose the game... so I ask myself, why would he keep THE BEST defensive player out at the most important time of the game. What I came up with is probably felt he wasn't quick, disciplined, or savvy enough to defend quicker guards who stretch the floor.

I actually agree with most complaints everyone has. Dragic was playing bad, I would love to see Whiteside playing more in the 4th, and yes McRoberts can play better. I'm just not a dude who likes to put a loss on one one guy or one decision. I can't bring myself to say it's all Spo's fault and Whiteside not playing in the 4th is THE reason he Heat loss. The reason these things occur is often times more complex than we fans give credence to. As Spo says" Trust the process."

But yea... until next game.

Take it eassy guise... I think it's inexcusable how he handled Whiteside and has been... but that's over with and on to the next. Nice to see Goran-Wade starting to play so well together after all the talk about them not fitting in together, I hope they found something real

Went to the movies and recorded the game. Got back and shut the game off in the 2nd quarter. Such a lackadaisical effort. I have a feeling the Heat thought the were going to get an easy win and overlooked this team.

And Whiteside wonders why he doesn't get the ball. Dude was forcing so much 3 damn travels from what I saw last night and 6 TO's total. Didn't see any team ball last night.

i have no idea what it is with us. i think we really do have a problem where we dont give 100% effort every night. we lose to teams we have no business losing to with half effort, then play our hearts out against tough teams and win. u see a team like golden state, who doesn't take it easy on ANYONE. they haven't taken their foot off the pedal against any team this year. AND STILL have come close to getting beat 2 or 3 times already by "inferior" teams. If curry eased up even a little in either game, they would've lost. this is the attitude OUR team needs to adopt. we have the pieces. we just have to use them ALL of the time.

whoever on the floor needs to give that udonis haslem effort. if they slack off, bench em. we have no time for people who just wanna take up space. but the way we're coached is a whole 'nother conversation. so lets not even go down that ugly road....

Dan brought up some great points this morning on the Ticket smh. Hassan may not "deserve" max money but we may "have" to consider it

We don't have anywhere near the depth that GS has. They can afford to give that kind of effort because when they are tired someone else can come in and contribute. Curry is much younger than Wade. Makes a difference when your superstar is in his prime. We have one player that is seriously underperforming. That is Dragic. How much more can we expect out of the other players?

Whiteside is still raw. Deng has so many miles on him from being run ragged in Chicago. Wade is an unbelievable player but has to pick and choose when to turn it on. Haslem and Amare are washed. Winslow still needs to find a way to contribute offensively.

We have Bosh and Wade's shadow.

The "inferior" teams will play hard against us because they know we are very beatable.

I'll be happy with resting Wade as much as possible throughout the regular season and getting a 4 seed with a favorable first round matchup. Then hope Wade has enough in the tank to make some magic in the later rounds.

Agreed. I wouldn't mind that tbh cause we KNOW damn well that other desperate teams are gonna offer him the max
