So... are there stores that take Venmo? Because otherwise, that's the only advantage over PayPal, and the only difference?No, a debit card generally isn't a viable option of payment between two individuals.
And how do you give money to each other? Log in, select who you're wanting to give it to, they log in to their Venmo, you send the money?

There are some stores that accept it. I've only really seen at stores that are super close to college campuses like around UC Berkeley, but it's not really meant for point of sale transactions.
Venmo has been around a long time, these days PayPal mobile is up to speed but it was lagging behind for a while. That's why they recently bought out venmo.
So no currently there's no real advantage over PayPal except that more people use it, venmo established itself as the go to mobile payment app.

Better example would be you and your boys go on a road trip. Driver fills up a couple times and you and your boys want to split the cost of gas evenly and it's $30 a head. If you don't have cash on you just pay him $30 using venmo. He receives the payment and transfer the funds to his checking account.
