But when i think of a point guard, i think of the VOCAL floor leader, penetrator, distributor, shooter and defensively a guy that keeps his man in front of him.
Rose does some GREAT things on the court. None of the things that he does great are in that list except penetrate.
I want my PG to get the others going early and create confidence in the role players by getting them easy baskets, in turn this will motivate them to play harder in other aspects (which i feel DRose is CAPABLE of but just doesn't). Fees the hot hand. Find mismatches (Rose never seems to be thinking or trying to read anything to find open teammates. If he sees an opening its for him to the lane).
With all that said, rose is still the best lead guard we've had in years and i like his determination to be aggressive and score. Thats why i said bring him off the bench to hunt for that 20+ points. He wont have any other responsibility and EVERYONE would love him for just coming in as instant offense. Hes perfect for it.
Rose has either looked off or just plain didnt see so many open shooters and cutters the whole season. Guys will stop cutting and getting open after a while of being open and not getting the ball. His penetration is just a notch better to watch then the iso Melo, only cause he still has a lot of bounce left and can finish with the best of them. Hes just not the pg we need with this team or going foward. We have guys on this team that would flourish with a guy like John Wall.
Shoot, gimme Rubio out there wit this squad and we are better by atleast 4 games.
