Pretty certain that Thomas had the worst DRPM in the NBA last year.

you are right. IT was 80 of 80 in PG DRPM last season. But, Kyrie was 69th of 80 and steph curry was barely a + at 0.14 although that was good enough to be a top 20 performer in that area.

but what is DRPM? do you know what goes into it? or is it just another silly advanced metric that is used to define a player defensive prowess only to be completely contradicted by the next defensive advance metric created by another pencil pushing geek? (rhetorical)

my aplogies to @pch roadwinder and others who have stated that steph curry isnt horrible on D, he just isnt built to be great at it. because they were right. i was wrong. and in that same way, blake griffin isnt built to be a great rim protector and IT isnt built to be an elite defender. he does stay in front of his man though and gives good effort on the defensive end.

shame on anyone that condemns IT defensively when he had to be the one and only option (offensively) EVERY SINGLE NIGHT but praised Steph Curry for having to be the same.

Wizards aint' even beating the Bucks.

Not beating the Bucks?

I just woke up from a mid day nap and am just now seeing the news.

Holy ****. I didn't think Boston would actually go through with it.

As a Cleveland fan, only thing I'd be worried about is IT's hip. If that thing flares ups, Celtics beat the Cavs. IT put about 3 seasons on his body last year. Wear and tear like a MF.

fully expect love and JR or shump to not be cavs by the trade deadline

with wade and possibly carmelo being added.

As long as the cavs don't trade or cut RJ and Channing I'm good. Need that road trippin podcast this season :smokin

And those teams still going to be better than LA. They have players with potential but are trash for now.

We also got veteran guys playing in contract years, have no incentive to tank next season like the past ones, and will see progression from the young guys, we're not going to be bad enough to convey that pick to Boston.

Nets, Pacers, Bulls, Suns are worse than us right now for sure. Several others likely to join that group as the season progresses.

If OKC/NO aint clicking by the AS break Bron is packaging Love or IT with that pick & going for it all

OKC - PG for Love & the First
NO - IT for Cousins & pick

We can debate the merits of advanced stats till we're blue in the face, but fact of the matter is that teams targeted IT when he was on the floor. Brad Stevens had to get creative with how he hid Thomas while on defense.

Case in point, this is a quote from Avery Bradley from April:

"He saw something that we couldn't figure out. That's why he's LeBron James. He saw that he wanted to get Isaiah (Thomas) in pick-and-roll. He knew what guy he wanted to get in pick-and-roll so he could expose our defense. As a team you have to cover each other, you have to talk and you have to have each other's back. And we didn't do that tonight."

Maybe some Cavs fans can chime in, but are Kyrie's struggles on defense due to effort, or ability? I can say that IT at least tries...but he sucks at that end of the floor.

Cavs can't be done making moves....they just can't.

melo dont want to go to cavs plus he has a no trade clause... why you guys keep bringing up his name like cleveland is realistic for him? dwade maybe will go there if he gets bought out
