5.Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers have been collecting assets since team president Andrew Friedman and GM Farhan Zaidi arrived two years ago; now it's time for them to turn these assets into championship-caliber players in their prime, and Chris Sale fits that mold perfectly.
Let's make this clear: The Dodgers aren't getting Sale without parting with young lefty starter Julio Urias. If they won't, the deal is dead. If they will, then it's a matter of deciding who will go with him. Pitcher prospect Jose De Leon would be the next name included, and the third would be … Yasiel Puig, as the Dodgers move in a different direction and the White Sox hope the influence of first baseman Jose Abreu will get the talented Puig to make adjustments.
Trade: Sale for Urias, De Leon and Puig. That would give the Dodgers the dreaded one-two punch of Clayton Kershaw and Sale going forward. In fact, if Kershaw (back) is able to return to form this season, the Dodgers would have a legitimate chance of running the table in October.
