I'm assuming the cost of living wherever they are in Missouri is dirt cheap. Dad probably makes a good six-figure salary at UM (I think he still coaches there.) Money probably goes really far where they live...

Yeah that was what I was thinking. That's why I asked where they're from.

Crib like that in Boston is like $1.5 mill.

Got a guilty pleasure of watching House Hunters on HGTV. Eye opening to see what you can get for like 400k in parts of TX, GA, etc.

Yea for sure. Can get you a nice 5br, 3.5bath, 3000+ sq feet for 400k in the Houston area. I’m sure it’s the same in GA

My moms just closed on her home a couple months ago.
Had a crib built for 400k. Fam from NY came to visit and said it would easily run for 2 million up there.
Don't see how y'all do it. :smh:

It's trash. I've been strongly contemplating a move for over a year now, but everywhere I want to go is still expensive. Always wanted to be on the west coast, but even the Pacific Northwest is wild expensive.

For most NYers, going to a place with 300-400k mansions would be boring af. It’s just a night and day change for people to enjoy where they’re living.

Not the right move unless you have family there, tryna get out the hood, or are retiring.

If I had the bread, I'd definitely be in CA or NY though. No doubt.
It's just hard making a move like that knowing what I know about the South.

My girl's grandma just moved here from NY.
She HATES it. Even as an old lady. She says it's too quiet.:lol:
She's been living in the city since she came here from Guatemala.

When I was on rotations, I’ve lived in places where mansions were 300-400k. Man that **** gets annoying. Gotta drive 30 min just for groceries, only 2 places to go out and bag *****es, really nothing to do outside of basic ****. Literally gotta drive everywhere.

Got tired of it real quick. Life turns too repetitive, no excitement.

One of the reasons I moved back up north was for my career. I'm fine with packing it up and leaving for 80% of my pay. That 80% in the south will stretch more than the 100% up here.
