Sf and DC the woat cities to rent

Imagine paying 1900 for a 400ft studio

Met this chick who was living in SF with two roommates. It was a 1 bedroom lmfaoooooo. I'd rather live in idaho than do some stupid **** like that.

Wouldn't mind living in Miami if it wasn't for the humidity. I simply can't tolerate it. Shame cause there's so much to do, it's diverse and the yambs are plentiful.

Yeah it can be pretty bad. The heat and humidity this summer in particular has been unbearable. I was born and raised here so it's nothing new to me, but I'd be lying if I said you get used to it.

kingfoamnyc kingfoamnyc its really hard to explain to those who haven’t grew up in Queens/Brooklyn/Bronx/Manhattan. NYC always pulls you back. If you’re on the outside looking in, it doesn’t make sense for them.

When I drove back from Atlanta and stopped in a few suburban towns to eat/get gas it blew my mind how similar all these places looked :lol

I can live in the suburban Atlanta version of NJ, PA, Westchester while still being a hour away from the city.

That energy from the city can't be replicated at all and when you lose it you definitely feel it.

Don't get me wrong though. I can't wait to get the opportunity to visit and feel the vibe of real southern cities with a rich long history and lineage like New Orleans and Houston

Orlando and Phoenix are garbage. Texas and maybe Georgia are really the only places with a serious arguement here.

With the gentrification going on in NYC though, most people are moving down south. Those prices are gonna go up as well down there.

Those beautiful "low income" buildings that are going up by the day in impoverished areas are a gateway for the gentrifiers. Dudes really are confused why they aren't getting selected for these high security 24 hour supervised modern apartments :lol them ****s are built for people like Jerry, an Ohio transplant who just landed a 60k a year job at a art gallery in the village fresh from college.

I could never live in the true South (Miami is not really part of the South), especially not in Trump's America.

Lived in Miami and mostly South/Mid Beach for half a year, even though it was expensive af, I loved it. I need seasons though.

I’m tryna move down to Austin, TX eventually. Perfect combination of affordable housing/city feel

My cousin moved from Brentwood (LA), to Seattle and eventually built a house in Austin this past Spring. He didn't want to raise his kid in Los Angeles so he moved to Seattle. Lasted like 6 months and said it's depressing AF. He had a solid come up from selling his place in LA. Bought for $600K. Sold for like $1.2M

Also, one thing that can't be overlooked when talking about moving is food.

I lived in DC for a year and one of my biggest complaints was the fact that I couldn't find any good Cuban food anywhere.

I always hear NYers complain about the lack of good Italian food when they move away.

THIS!

Probably the biggest thing I miss about living in New York. ENDLESS food options of just about every ethnic cuisine. No city compares to NYC as far as food in the US. You can literally get anything....except that good southern BBQ. :lol

Idk much about any of those on the least expensive list. I know Jackson, MS has a nice downtown though.

Obviously everyone is different but Houston for example I get a hotel like a mile from the arena, just on the other side of the interstate. Took nearly an hour sitting in traffic to get there. I don't care how much more you claim to have to do if I have to sit in traffic for hours to get there.

I live 12 miles iirc from work and if it takes more than 20 minutes I am mad because that means there was some sort of wreck or other highway disruption got us one lane or reduced speed.

Even Dallas is right on the cusp of too big for me depending. 35 and 287 are almost always at a standstill. And buses/trains, always associated with homeless, druggies, and non modern prostitutes. I'll just drive where I am going and park there at that destination for free thank you. But of course to each his own

I live in modern, semi bougie gated apartments across the street from the Capitol, 5 minutes from downtown (Bricktown) for $900 for a 2br, elevator, concrete floors. Haven't seen one female tenant here over 40. INS tho. Apartment is like 950 sq ft. We still kind of get **** for non Country concerts but Dallas is less than 3 hours away for that like OTR in September.

Those articles about Google engineers in CA making 160k but living literally in closets or 10 deep in 2 br apartments while having the nerve to pay like 1500 to do so or dude who lives in his truck are crazy to me.

Food is everything bro :lol

I pick places to travel to based on the food too. I went to Iceland last year and the food was

After that, First thing I look up when I travel anywhere is food

I always see people heading from Houston going back to Boston and DC with Mexican food saying “we don’t have any of this stuff” in regards to stuff that pretty basic to me :lol
