New York also has some pretty good steak houses.

Nusret
Benjamins
Peter Luger
Keane’s

For me
Texas has the best southern BBQ.
Cali & Texas probably tied for Mexican food.
New York has the best pizza & Italian food

THIS!

Probably the biggest thing I miss about living in New York. ENDLESS food options of just about every ethnic cuisine. No city compares to NYC as far as food in the US. You can literally get anything....except that good southern BBQ.

Nova is about as diverse as it gets tho

Arab, east african, caribb, latino food, etc. you know this man

In comparison to NYC? Nah.

Only thing I'd give an edge to NOVA to over NYC is Salvadorean food.

Idk much about any of those on the least expensive list. I know Jackson, MS has a nice downtown though.

Obviously everyone is different but Houston for example I get a hotel like a mile from the arena, just on the other side of the interstate. Took nearly an hour sitting in traffic to get there. I don't care how much more you claim to have to do if I have to sit in traffic for hours to get there.

I live 12 miles iirc from work and if it takes more than 20 minutes I am mad because that means there was some sort of wreck or other highway disruption got us one lane or reduced speed.

Even Dallas is right on the cusp of too big for me depending. 35 and 287 are almost always at a standstill. And buses/trains, always associated with homeless, druggies, and non modern prostitutes. I'll just drive where I am going and park there at that destination for free thank you. But of course to each his own

I live in modern, semi bougie gated apartments across the street from the Capitol, 5 minutes from downtown (Bricktown) for $900 for a 2br, elevator, concrete floors. Haven't seen one female tenant here over 40. INS tho. Apartment is like 950 sq ft. We still kind of get **** for non Country concerts but Dallas is less than 3 hours away for that like OTR in September.

Those articles about Google engineers in CA making 160k but living literally in closets or 10 deep in 2 br apartments while having the nerve to pay like 1500 to do so or dude who lives in his truck are crazy to me.

Been to Jackson, MS... never again.

Speaking of deep dish pizza, Olive Garden dropped a "pizza bowl."

Looks like something you'd get at Pizza Hut. Slap in the face to Italian good.

I have a not safe for NT story about Jackson, what happened to you tho? I usually stay at that Drury Inn right off the interstate and spend time in that downtown shopping district with the 5 Guys, Ruth Chris, Whole Foods type market, etc. Theres a few Nike outlet stores within a short radius too.

On Westminster in Houston I **** with Chama Gaucha. Go on a Sunday and all those Middle Eastern dudes pull up deep in Bentleys, Ferraris, Lambos, etc.

Was there for a wedding some years back. Stayed in downtown. The hotel was decent. I’m from LA, just didn’t feel very welcome there.

I haven't heard of any of these but Peter Lugers which I really need to hit up.
Well if youve had wolfgang it tastes close to it.

Nusret just opened and is the resto of salt bae.
Benjamins is near grand central and i think the owner js one of the former emplyees of Peter Luger who decided to do his own thing.
Keen’s i spelled it wrong. Is an old *** resto famous for their mutton chops their prime rib is ayt.

Nusret had really really really cheap steak in turkey with great quality dont know about NYC tho. Like 30 dollars per head and a great cut.

Speaking of which, what type of human being eats at the Olive Garden in Times Square?

You may have to go up a pant size after a few deep dish slices and an italian beef combo smothered in gravy

YO! this man hit the nail on the head. I know Al's Beef is considered a franchise that just mass produces their menu items, but that Italian beef combo with the au jus sauce is worth every penny. for a dude from the west coast, where they don't do fast-food like that, i made sure to go multiple times.

my home girl lived in Hyde park, so she took me to Harold's Chicken. Chicken and catfish were on point.

Al's for the italian beef combo is the truth. Felt like a tub of lard but had to do the gravy.

Also if you're doing pizza, you have to go to Pequod's. Skip the chains (Gino's, Lou Malnati's, Giordano's) if you can.

Harold's is lowkey over hyped but it's a chain for cheap chicken so I can't be too critical
