Zach Lowe said recently, "Great teams want to see Rudy Gobert on the court" because they can go small, spread the floor, and suddenly Gobert loses the ability to drop back into the paint and is forced to awkwardly try to guard the perimeter (and Gobert is obviously not a major positive, if he is a positive at all, on the offensive end giving his lack of playmaking or shooting ability).
Problem with "Top 15 Rudy" is that he's basically a non-factor against the Warriors and Celtics, and he gets outplayed by Capela when they play the Rockets. Very good against everybody else though.
So capela is 14?
Lob gravity
Rim protection.
More defensive versatility
Better advanced numbers in both the regular and post season
Capela >>> Gobert
Playing with 2 hall of fame Guards will help with that. Defensive versatility is the only real thing Clint has on Rudy. And it’s not by that much. Considering Rudy’s overall impact as an anchor and cleanup man when surrounded by average defenders.
PagingBIG LEEMELONE on and troll the HEAVY Rockets delegation in here....starting with:
MVP
Top 5 PG ever
14th best player
6MOTY....
tbh, the best teams have zero reason to fear Rudy.
And Gobert is playing for a top 5 coach.Last season he played with the true ROY and the prior season a top 6-7 player at his position. Since we are adding qualifiers, Utah plays one of the slowest paces in the league and doesn’t nearly shoot as many 3s as Houston.
And Capela has more sauce in PNR

Fake news off the muscle. Throw it away

If that's the case, how valuable is he really?
So today's debate is French Theo Ratliff vs Swiss DeAndre Jordan.
Unexpected, but I'm still here for it.

REGobert is a great player all the way up to the point where you actually need him to be a great player. Big Chris Paul
