Spurs better take what they can get. It's a tough spot because Leonard says he doesn't want to step foot in the facility again but teams are going to want to see Leonard is 100% healthy before offering anything of value.
The Spurs demands are based on what did expect to receive for a 100% healthy 2017, top 3 MVP Leonard and teams aren't sure that the beginning that guy anymore. That's all before you even throw in his contract status and his willingness to sign with other teams.

All the jokes, all the slander, all the proclamations of the Lakers being irrelevant for another decade, about nobody ever wanting to sign here again, about Lebron never would come here, that instead he'd rather play with the Clippers, that Magic was a Twitter fingers dummy and incompetent at his job, that our young core was trash, that the D'Lo trade was awful, and even now that we won't be championship contenders in short order.
I thank you. Y'all doubted the prophesy. The climb back to the mountain top will only be sweeter because of the anger that will emanate from your bodies as we're all up in the videos again, get all the hype and coverage, and that eventually translating to the product on the court and finally culminating in #17 being raised to the rafters.
You haters all deserve this. Laker fans, WE deserve this. It's about to be a helluva ride.

I think the upcoming season is the last one we see the Warriors as currently constructed. After this season Klay Thompson is an unrestricted free agent and I can see him wanting to cash out. also it looks like Draymond isn't down to take a pay cut either.
After this upcoming season both of them will likely have four championships and the next contract for both of them will be there last time to get a big payday.

Crazy thing is it's all on ownership. Do they pay an unfathomable amount in tax to keep the core in their new house? Trade for younger cheaper talent? What's next? WHAT'S NEXT?

Cause if KD leaves to NY or wherever, that's a huge blow to the team. He's been the difference these last 2 seasons. If you have Steph making 40 million, Draymond making 35 million, that severely limits your ability to fill out the rest of the roster.

True, but him leaving also leaves a ton of space, as well. Depending on how legit they have sounded regarding "team" ball, it could get really interesting. Especially with the draw of playing in golden states new place, culture, everything. Man, that sounds crazy, talking about the warriors in this context after all these years.

If Klay does resign at a max deal that's it. 2020 you have the OG trio taking up all of the cap even if KD leaves.

Yeah been going to Warriors games here in the Bay since I was a kid. And I get a strong feeling Klay and Draymond are gonna take their leave and have Kevin and Curry out here riding solo trying to attract new pieces to sign. Draymond will probably get cashed out by his home town team and I can see Klay signing with the Knicks with a large offer. Sucks. I’m trying to enjoy the dominance while I can lol.
