True, but him leaving also leaves a ton of space, as well. Depending on how legit they have sounded regarding "team" ball, it could get really interesting. Especially with the draw of playing in golden states new place, culture, everything. Man, that sounds crazy, talking about the warriors in this context after all these years.

If KD or Klay left next offseason the Warriors wouldn't see any cap relief because they would already be over the salary cap. I believe that's how it works but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Who knows though, the players seem to be willing to make sacrifices for one another but next year Klay and Draymond will both be 29 and I can see them trying to cash in and look for a big payday after having won (likely) 4 championships.

Easiest place to be a man and stick to your convictions has got to be anonymously on the internet, but I guess even that was too hard for a Lakers fan.

Man please. My convictions about my Lakers have never waivered. Didn't expect it to be done this route, but I always believed we'd be back and in short order. 2 years ago I said we'd be back in the playoffs, possibly the WCF by 2019 and here we are. Bron is not my ideal vessel to get this done but the manner in which it's happened is poetic justice.

Woj pod: "With Bron now in a Lakers uniform, the idea of going to the Clippers is far less appealing for Kawhi"

Damn Jerry

It seems like Shams and Woj or intentionally putting out contradictory information now. Honestly, it seems pretty obvious to me that sources within the Spurs organization are trying to put information out there to drive up the price for Kawhi.

Look at the "he'd be interested in resigning with the Sixers" stuff and the "he's not thrilled about playing with LeBron for playing on a super team" stuff. We see those reports, then immediately we see reports that contradictive them.

if anything, i think klay and steph are the one's who will stay. klay already said he is willing to take less and is comfortable with his contract. would not be surprised if this team stays together. dray may want the bag, but what team is willing to pay him. it is not like they will "lowball" him. i think meyers and lacob get creative and find a way to split the money. team still relatively young and i could see them being dominant into their mid 30s

as long as they are winning and filling the seats with those absurd ticket prices, lacob is willing to pay that tax. still making bank and dude has an ego and wants to make his history as well. when we talk about greatest owners in sports, lightyears lacob will be put on that list. he might even build a statue of himself outside chase :lol

Yeah, nothing but mle for free agency, but with everyone's bird rights, and kd after this season, it's all on ownership.

don't matter. that's still a **** ton of basketball being played for injuries/fatigue to not eventually become a problem. playing into june year after year is no joke.
Same with Lebron. Lakers fans are crazy if they think his body is gonna be able to hold up enough for him to be able to win a ring in two years.

It's pretty easy to decipher what's being leaked by the Spurs.

The whole you better trade for Kawhi now or lose out on Bron, or we now got Philly in the mix so you better up your offer Magic when all the other reports are they ain't even offering their 3rd most coveted player in any deals. Lakers making Kuz untouchable and only willing to include BI. Spurs asking for the Louisiana Purchase for Kawhi. All of it points to the market for him being at an all time low which I said was going to happen then moment he specified LA and Bron signed here without him coming. There isn't a bidding war, everybody is lowballing them now including LA. We'll see how long they drag this out.

bron in the situation where he is chasing kareem. he could've easily cut back his minutes going into the playoffs in recent years, but he isn't wired like that. can't blame him with all the hgh...i mean work...he puts into his body

think he continues to be one of the leaders in minutes next year. he's got the bright lights to perform and mvp to go after

What happens if the Lakers trade their youth for Kawhi and Kawhi never returns to form?

I don't think they will. By taking control of his medical stuff and not doing it with the Spurs doctors, Leonard can control what team he goes to by only releasing his medical info to the team he wants to be traded to. he could only release his medical info to the teams he wants to be traded to. The Celtics and the Sixers are not going to offer any real assets for a player they haven't seen play in a year and a half.

Kawhi is doing as masterful of a job of forcing his way to a specific team without a NTC as I've ever seen.

Hmm...

Wouldn’t mind it if we end up trading Fultz in a deal for Kawhi. Would have Crawford as JJ’s backup and Chandler as Kawhi’s backup.

Maybe adjusting on a sliding up scale would work, they'd have to adjust each series accordingly on who played who, just so many variables to take into account. 40000 miles is a lot. Season wouldn't end until late August or something.
