It's not the chucking that's a detriment to Melo's reputation. It's the ancillary function of him being a "ball stopper".

I think if he could embrace the Warriors philosophy of moving the ball until you find the open man, he could look VERY GOOD on the team. The Warriors would be able to hide him on defense, he could get his offensive rebounds (which he's reputable for), and he would get a lot of open jumpers. This would truly allow him to be "Olympic Melo".

Maybe i'm underestimating him, but I don't see him having that foresight or belief. I think his bond with CP0 and LeBron means more to him than being in an ideal situation.

With Paul being in Houston, Lebron will probably try to get Melo and even Wade to LA so he can have more friends

There's so many reasons why Melo should go to GS instead of any other team. Houston probably works too. They need to fill in Ariza's role.
