One of the most successful franchises in the WNBA's 21-year history folded ten years ago.

Imagine if that happened in the NBA.

What are you talking about? The revenue split in the NBA hasn't always been 50-50. the natural tension in collective bargaining is that the owners and players always want more for their side. The players union can hold out and miss entire seasons if CBA negotiations arent going their way because they have a good bargaining position. The NBA is as popular as it's ever been (heck ppl even care about summer league now). They know they can hit the owners wear accounts, in their pockets.

The WNBA players association has no leverage. Only three or four of the 12 teams are actually generating revenue so them going on strike to having a higher revenue split really has little impact to team owners. If the WNBA players went on strike they would literally only be hurting themselves. Also, being honest would anyone really care if the WNBA we're gone for an entire season?
This right here is the plain truth. Sounds like they're just posturing for the next cba when they can opt out in 2020 and try and work a better deal. If the teams can't even turn a profit, then what is there to split though? The bills?

This is America. Literally everyone wants to get paid more. How many folks that do not work for ourselves go into work thinking “You know what...I’m getting paid exactly what I deserve. I’m good.” Nah bruh, you say thanks during that salary review or bonus discussion but you think about your body of work and feel you deserved more.

This is no different. We are human and all want more.

I'm not arguing it should be 50-50, my point was to show the discrepancy and they don't want NBA salaries.

If the NBA players held out now fans would side with the owners. If the owners are losing money why don't they just sell the teams?

These Laker haters need to pick a narrative and just stick to it. When he was on the Lakers they hated D'lo. Now that he's on another team, he's talented and his limited minutes is the only thing holding him back.

Except for I'm a Lakers fan, I've NEVER hated on Dlo(in fact I was extremely vocal about that in the Lakers thread) and his minutes are the reason his numbers don't jump off the screen, to casuals. Oh and since you brought up haters... Literally the same people telling you he is good now, have been doing so his whole career. Only people who have consistently hated on him still do genius

He wants to be the man.
Wait what? He’s the man in Boston...Kyrie is a weirdo man. We as the Sport world shouldn’t rattle our brain trying to figure this dude out. He don’t know what the hell he wants.

Now he’s surrounded by a young talented core that lean on him and he has a genius coach in a major market that’s ready to break bread to pay him. On top of that the team is hands down the best in the confence?

Get this ***** all the way the **** outta here

I am back!! Was on vacation last week from work and took some time with the family.

What did I miss?...and oh yeah.

Kyrie is a weird type of cat man. Dude is hard to read, I think he leaves but he SHOULD stay.

He wants to be on pre-LeBron Cleveland basically. I think he was happy there.

Basketball saved kyrie bc if he didn’t hoop he would be that guy at work that you say to yourself

“wtf are you talking bout man?”

or “not today bruh, not today, it’s friday and I ain’t trying to hear that ****.”

:lol

I know too many of these dudes....

One dude I know swears up and down he’s Oprah’s cousin. I’m like “aight bruh”

The “King of LA” LeBron mural has already been vandalized.

It has since been touched up with the word “of” removed.

A completely HONEST question....when talking about the WNBA etc., folks applaud the leagues for their detail to fundamentals. Even saying they're better than the men's game. If I was to catch a WNBA game, what should I be looking for in that regard?

Play execution.

Matter of fact, the Mystics are playing a great brand of basketball. The WNBA does need to do a better job of embracing the 3 ball but for the old school throw in the post people, it’s what they want minus the dunks.

Appreciate the reply...I'll have to check out the Mystics at some point. One of the blogs I read on the Wizards, cover the Mystics...I just never read the articles or post-game wrap ups.
