The Rockets only signed Melo because he was available for the minimum and as a favor for Harden/Paul.

If people really thought the Rockets believed in Melo as a contributing player, then :lol.

I guess the thing to note from your nearly incoherent reply is that you omitted the fact that Russell is equally as bad if not worse of a defender.

You were just in here with your shirt off talking about “ Sage Steele > Rose Olowunde”.

It’s clear that your judgement is as poor as your grammar.

“Here”

This Embiid thing is the perfect example of Coaches just overthinking & trending way to far into this BS idea of everyone must play small ball. Embiid is a 29% shooter, who can easily dominate most Centers in the post & demand a double... but instead they have him waiting for a kickout, I'm glad Joel spoke up publicly about this.
A lot of this is on Simmons inability/refusal to shoot jumpers though.

Why and how was Melo hindering the Rockets?

I hate to bring this up AGAIN .....

But just wanted to drive the point about player development and sacrificing for the team and wins.

Again, I cant knock what's going on because "Bron" is winning and to me that's the GOAL, if you dont win it all, nevermind.

What are you talking about.....

I’m glad Embiid said that. Last time he said something like this to the media was when he was pissed off about Brett Brown/the organization continuing to make him sit out back to backs and ****. Immediately after he said that to the media they never held him out like that again.

It wasnt Melo missing open shots. It wasnt trading Ariza (whose not contributing in any way on a 4 win team). There's a bigger problem in Houston.

Management?

I'm gonna say MDA. He peaks with any team he coaches, then there's a sudden drop off. Happened with the Knicks, Lakers, and now Rockets. Teams adjusted and know how to defend them, but MDA stays in his ways. He's always been super stubborn.

Your best SG in the league, best "pass first" PG in the league, and according to NT the best defensive C in the league should not be under .500

What you mean what I'm talking about????

What dont you understand?

Where did you read I was saying something negative about Embid speaking out?????

This goes back to yesterday's conversation about players not being properly develop when they are playing in a Lebron team.

Then this happen and it's a perfect example of how a player that is sacrificing for wins, but everyone including him can see is impeding his growth and potential.

Embid is a very outspoken player vices someone that could be good or great but playing with lebron that will keep his mouth quiet and just sacrifices for the win. Again, is nothing negative because they objective is to win, but it can be done differently .....

I'm glad he spoke out aswell!

Playing awful defense and not hitting open shots certainly wasn't helping them...
I can understand this, but with Melongone. What exactly are they doing? I dont think Melo was the problem, but the scapegoat.

I mean he was avg 13ppg 40% from the field and 30% from 3. Not great but not horrible, specially for the money.

Melo was definitely a scapegoat. CP0 being injured and washed, losing Ariza the main culprits. Beard won his chip when he got MVP last year. Oh and the owner is cheap.

Yeah I don't think he's deserving of being the scapegoat. Chris Paul is not playing like a legitimate #2 guy and Eric Gordon has been terrible. Zero bench.

Problems are definitely deeper than Melo.
