Another factor in this is that sadly a lot of black youth are almost boxed into either music, sports, or dealing strictly based on whom and where they’re born. It’s almost as if they have no choice but to focus on sports to “to make it out”.

White youth got other distractions with much more avenues open to them. Not in the same quicksand situation where you gotta hoop or deal to make it out.

Random the Mccdonalds All American Roster that Austin Rivers was on is a pure dumpster fire.

The McDonald's game history is littered with trash rosters (in terms of NBA success). Flipping through them is a sight to behold. Look at some of those dumpster fires in the '80s and '90s.

We'll see how much power the players actually have when the next lockout comes around. All of it's moot right now. This is not a criticism of LeBron, or disagreeing with that tweeter's comments, but owners have an abundance of two things compared to every NBA player: time and money.

He's been speaking dismissively of Klutch even before that. He's salty that he doesn't have access to them or that circle more than anything, and with Bron's empire expanding he's also a competitor to him.

Kenyans and Ehthopians dominate marthon running, yet they are both existent in cycling.

Black folk are over represented in football, basketball, and track. But under represented in Hockey, Lacrosse and tennis.

It is not strictly about genetics. In fact, in the grand scheme of things, I don't think it is that important. Your are gonna find great athletes in every gene pool, but are a) choosing to play certain sports b) have the proper infrastructure to succeed at the sport c) are being trained properly.

Finally many do not realize that college sports is affirmative action for suburban white kids. So much attention is paid to the black faces that play football and basketball that folk ignore all the white faces making up wrestling, rowing, tennis, and volleyball teams. Think of all the athletic beast that go into those sports that the high profile ones because it is a easier come up for a scholarship, and black communities hardly pay attention to them or don't have the infrastructure to let their kids persue them.
