So when would have it been permissible to request a trade? Next season?
Don't you think optics would have been better if he did? If you've got less than a year on your contract and it gives your current team a chance to get something in return. Plus you have the benefit of honoring a significant majority of your contract, which give little room for complaint against you.

Regarding the LeBron/Klutch/player empowerment era, all I have to say is the next lockout is not going to be fun. It's not happening for awhile, but you better believe another lockout is coming. CBA negotiations is where owners get to reset everything.

The NBA would not be anything if it were not for the Black athlete. Bill Russell, Wilt, Oscar, all thought to control themselves and environment. The next stage of evolution is ownership, which Jordan has accomplished. However controlling the media and agency is becoming a reality as well. LeBron seems to be heading that charge. I root for LeBron big time.

Zion’s parents won’t allow him to sign with Klutch.

Also that guy is reaching super hard pulling the race card on white trainers. Wasn’t Brickley a no name who was put on by Melo? I’m sure there are better non social media trainers, but I don’t **** with using the race card to take away how hard someone may have worked to get where they are.

A lot of luck is involved as well. Gotta know the right people, be at the right place at the right time, etc.

But pulling the race card here is lazy. Work hard, network right, go after the elite high school kids and make them stick with you when they’re drafted. Don’t go complaining about race when you’re losing clients.

Definitely, I did say if he waited for the summer I think the negativity decreases quite a bit. I think our convo is equivalent to glass half empty glass half full

My overall point though is that I don't have issue with him requesting the trade now. I don't enjoy the prospect of playing out a lame duck season, including going into that training camp knowing your franchise player isn't coming back

I fully expect owners to be extremely ruthless during the next lockout.

Maybe make it so contracts are more easily voided if players try to dishonor their contracts.

I wouldn't play no games if I was an owner.

I get wanting out of a bad situation..but if you want the freedom to do so just sign the shorter contract.

:lol:I guess white privilege has its benefits. White privilege is so dope, that it isn't even called a card.

Of course, best believe this player power development will cause an even deeper pushback/reaction from the other side. All of this is a 4D chess game. Checks and balances

I don't see anything wrong with that, all sides competing for their best interests

Sometimes work stoppages are a necessary evil. Klutch and players shouldn't be deterred on continuing to gain their own footing

No **** there’s such a thing as white privilege. It’s the sad reality we live in. But to say people are losing clients in the NBA because of their skin color is reaching, and I’m not buying it at all.

Kinda think we are on the same vein. I've got no issue with AD asking for a trade now privately, as in nobody finds out about it til long into next season. That way parties can work on deals without what happened. It was plain as day that Lebron was driving the timing of this. Whoever is giving AD advice is just making him look like a fool now. He's one of my favorite players to watch and I hate seeing that. "I'll only play here""All teams are potential destinations". Come on man. AD is a next level basketball player. Don't be putting him out here looking clueless like that.

People are losing lives because of it, so what makes you think that they aren't losing clients?
Money talks, and access to it speaks volumes.

Yeah, you mean the NFL contract system. Trump style contracts
No not NFL style

To my knowledge their contracts aren't guaranteed at all

What I'd have in mind is everything is all good and guaranteed unless you're trying to force trades early. They can even keep it in where money is still guaranteed even if you're hurt.

I just think Klutch’s margin for error with the AD situation was minuscule given the optics. One wrong move was bound to piss people off.
Bingo. Additionally, we, I mean all of us and the sports world weren't used to this player empowerment development. Completely new. New can be scary and "disruptive" (I think many races view this development as disruptive). Then you put that through the lens of race and it spins off into so many different directions

Losing lives is a completely different topic. Idk
why you would even go there.

We’re talking about a professional sport that where if you network right, work hard at your craft, and use social media as a platform you’ll not only keep your clients but make new ones too.

So, NFL style where contracts can't be guaranteed or in your words "voided". Same idea different words

You shown your colors
