I see being reasonable as a two way street. With rondo's missing time as well as bron and bbb kid, the other kids had to grow too fast to keep up. Not a lot of teams could recover this quickly from these injuries on their roster. But at least it happened early in the season to still give that glimmer of hope.

Those who didn't think they had a shot at the payoffs obviously didn't watch the team play. They had potential to squeak in last year with LeBron it should have been a lock. I would cut him more slack if he didn't lose winnable games early on.

This is false. The vast majority had us making the playoffs. Maybe as a 6-8 seed but definitely not missing it.

most of the non-laker people i remember were saying they'd miss or barely make 8th lol

i believe them getting 4th (over achieving) shifted expectations a bit and maybe sped up the timeline
albeit they did have a weaker schedule

i actually had them being a 4 seed before the season started. prob blind faith in lebronze
and i think if he didnt miss them 18 games they would still be 4-6.
the WC gauntlet is crazy because even right now they're still only like 3 games out 6 right?

A lot of y’all are assuming he cares about basketball and the playoffs. Missing the postseason would open up his schedule and give him almost 2 months more than he usually gets in the offseason. That’s a lot of time in the business world

LeBron gets a pass for not making the playoffs, yet the young core is trash for not making the playoffs when they all missed games also. I'm not saying LeBron is trash but he does share in some of the blame for the state they are in.

Sure injuries were a factor.

But I've seen this movie before. Pau missed 33 games, Nash missed 30 games, Lakers were 4 games under .500 at the AS break and floundering in just as tough of a western conference. We made the playoffs though.

Honestly if you aren't a 100% or 90% should you risk it in a charity game or hold back and chill for the betterment of the team. I mean I can see in the NHL where if you make the all star team you HAVE to play or you are suspended the next game.
