Bron passed up the opportunity to play on a team with a transcendent big man, young, albeit non-shooting version of himself, and enough assets to construct a team around them that would make sense, all while staying in the East.

Maybe not sitting out, but there was no need for him to play 27 minutes. It's a bad look for the Lakers and kinda kills the injury excuse going forward.

Sure injuries were a factor.

But I've seen this movie before. Pau missed 33 games, Nash missed 30 games, Lakers were 4 games under .500 at the AS break and floundering in just as tough of a western conference. We made the playoffs though.
