It is not Devin Booker's fault that the Suns front office looked at the current NBA, and said we wanted to draft a center who can't play defense instead of Luka Doncic despite how important playmakers are to NBA success.

How good do you think peak Book will be?

Totally dependent on team. I don't think statistically he'll be that much better than what he is now, maybe a few more Free throw attempts a game...maybe he cares a little more on defense at his peak...but really the change will be him doing this with an actual competent team.

I have that same thought. The one thing for me for him to be IT is playing defense. Thats the difference between him and Beal.

It is pretty clear as to what is happening with these sort of injuries. I don't know the training protocol was used with this young man in particular, but from what I am noticing around the league is that the systems they use are based upon gaining explosiveness, but not size. The athletes who look to gain both size and strength to match the explosiveness respond better, recover better. Building size through strength training allows the bone density to increase along with muscular elasticity and strength. However, many training staffs look for more explosiveness as a sign of strength gains, which is wrong. The players from back in the day were far more dense, prepared for impact much more than players of today. The game was more physical, and players prepared for it differently. Now that it is about more excitement, players train for that instead of the basics, and they are less durable because of it.

We need to redefine the term empty stats

and how are we redefining that, based on whether a person likes a player or not

23, 24, 21, 17 (so far) these are the Suns win totals so far, now this is not to say this falls all on Booker at all, but i don't see how these aren't empty stats and other guys get accused of it all the time.

Although I’ve never been a big fan of his and recognize how bad his stints with OKC and Houston were, still somewhat surprised Melo never got picked up by anyone.

Maybe he can at least have a decent 2019-2020 playing with LeBron for a whole season in LA. Or else he’s basically getting the forced retirement treatment Iverson did.

Saw this coming a mile away smh.

In the simplest of ways for someone to be am elite bucket getter like he is, all while being the focal point of the opposing defense is enough to tell you that it's not empty.

Basketball hot take pet peeves are when they criticize the player for taking the money.

When they criticize the player for doing other things aside from basketball. Like dudes be shopping/clubbing and some bozo will say he should be working on his FT’s or something.

:lol Right.

Devin Booker's a really good scorer. Is he really very good at anything else?

I mean yall were killing a guy like Russ for putting up empty triple doubles even tho the thunder win most of the time when he does. Why does Booker get a pass? Yall make all kinda excuses for him. Not even hating on him just the way he gets treated with kid gloves in here
