for a dude with potentially knee tendonitis, if Embiid is wildin out eating and drinking with little regard to his long term health **** could be terrible for his knee swelling. not saying his diet is the main cause but lots of correlation between what we eat and drink and the inflammation/swelling of joints. some basic food science. really didn't believe it until i started getting serious knee pain after running just three to four miles. tried new running shoes (those expensive brooks and new balance joints), ran with knee braces, foam rolling the IT band and quads, fish oil pills, stretching, etc. with little difference. finally decided to tinker with my diet and within a year I was able to mess with marathons with almost no knee or ankle joint pain whatsoever.
from an objective standpoint i'd be disappointed if he had to miss a significant time in the playoffs. wanna see teams at full strength and competitive
