I wish that was true, bet very few liked it then.

Most of the NBA players never been outside the country. So adapting was understandably tough for some.

Players who actually had talent like Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Michael Dickerson, and Mike Bibby enjoyed playing there.

Management was unstable. if they stayed the course and did what Toronto did, they could've lasted.

If my calculations are correct, if Julius Randle opts out, the Pelicans should have about 25 million dollars to throw at a FA this summer.

Lets say they get Butler or Kemba.

Holiday/SG/Harris/Zion/AD

That's still a second round team at best going forward, i don't think AD wants to wait until Zion develops to start contending.

I’ve thought about this too and how good of a team they could be right away but Klutch seems to have this man dead set on being in a big market.

I think it depends on if AD stays and what else the pelicans do.

Let's say they do nothing else. Yea I agree it's not a contending team.

But let's say they make moves to get the pelicans spacing...then right away it's a squad even with a raw Zion. Then ad wouldn't have to wait.

Passing on the supermax, playing with Jrue in his prime, Zion for the rest of your career and cap space for an extra max free agent this summer/sign a ton of other good pieces to go play with LeBron in his last few years before retirement and whatever is left on the roster after the trade (probably have the next three years of draft picks gone too) on the current most dysfunctional franchise in the league makes zero basketball or business sense.

So whoever is making that decision, Rich Paul or AD, is an idiot.

They don’t even need to sign a max free agent. There’s so many quality role players out there this summer they could sign with that 25+ mill in cap space they’ll have around AD, Zion and Jrue.
