two things

1) If L.A was to trade for AD i highly doubtthey are offering all of their young pieces, but if they were to trade Zo/Ingram/Kuz they wpould still have roughly 20-25 million dollars to spend in FA this summer
2) AD has made it clear s day that he doesn't want to play for the organization anymore the prospect of Zion isn't gonna change that at all

So what's going to prevent AD from going to LA next summer? A trade to the Knicks to play with KD and Mr Flat Earf

The Lakers spending their money this summer, I get AD is with Klutch and all but i don't think Your gonna sell Bron on bringing back the same team next year with a bunch of different one year deals, especially with this pick lined up. him & management are gonna be looking to bring in another AS this summer.

No cap space
Gotcha. All BS aside, if AD is dead set on playing for them next year regardless, then dont do the deal BUT it could be PG all over again

I disagree...you gotta do the deal if it’s there based off the reason you mentioned. A lot can change it a year and you can’t just assume he’s gonna sign

If the Pels took the deal the Lakers proposed at the deadline, would one of the assets the Pels received have the been the pick that translated to the #4?

I do the deal but not the offer that was rumored last year

with Kyrie bouncing, i doubt Ainge is giving up a lot of young pieces to get em. & the Knicks offer is pretty similar (they have a better pick by one slot, Lakers prospects have shown more than the Knicks)

I could see the logic behind the Knicks deal but from a basketball sense it would be a dumb move. Barrett and Zion aren't a great fit, Mitch is great at what he does but he plays limited minutes and is one dimensional as they come. Knox and dsj don't move the needle at all

Honestly this is really all on AD if he's adament about going to L.A he can really just tell a team i am DEFINITELY leaving next season & i would presume a team isn't gonna give up the entire core for a rental.

Opening the Way for the Lakers to not have to trade every piece on the team. #4/Ingram/Kuz would be a nice pickup for them

I mean...

Lonzo
Jrue
Ingram
Zion
*insert center*

Could be pretty cool as well. They could sign Vucevic to be their center next to Zion if they want. Or grab Bol Bol with the #4 pick. Would be a good fit next to Zion.
