He'll get a 3 year 45 mill or 2 year 40 mill contract for sure. He brings alot to a team still despite his age. Much more value than Barnes.

I think his money will stretch over a longer period of time, kind of helping the C’s out to sign other players, he will still get the bag, just over a longer span of time. Barnes didn’t deserve the 25m, he likely won’t get that anywhere else, he’s not good at basketball.

Al Horford is going to get more than 30 mil on a longer term deal.
Some people just don't understand the machinations of the salary cap for this summer compared to going forward. It's worth it coming in at a lower number this season to secure more in the long run.

What you said about Horford can be said about Barnes as well. Barnes will get more than $25M stretched over a period of time too.
This is actually pretty accurate, HOWEVER, in this instance, the building part of this would be for life after Bron.
He's got 3 years left, if you can get a 28 year old Kawhi, or 27 year old Kyrie to pair with AD, and have Bron as the luxury item for 3 years, that's the path.
If it was just one year, just one single year of Bron, then yeah, I would agree with you to stack 3D guys. But we're moreso building for AD's future by adding a "3rd" Max.

Harrison Barnes was going to play stress free, low expectation basketball for $25 mil for 9 months...and have a chance to be a FA next year in a less crowded free agency field, with possibly clearer options and more of his choice and bargaining chips.
Instead...He’s going to sign a stupid contract that’s going to pay him like 50 mil over 4 years. Could’ve made almost half of that just chillin in Sacramento for a year.
