With KD gone. No Klay until maybe February if lucky, 5 points and 3 rebounds and slightly above average defense (trending downward) from Iggy would have been an even bigger disaster. Because they wouldn’t be relying on him to be the 6th option on the team. He’d be the third. And he’d have to play 35 minutes, not 23 minutes.

Can’t have a 36 year old filling the role he would have needed to.

Yeah, that's very fair. He's been pretty steady throughout his career. Can score and rebound, plays terrible defense and doesn't offer much else.

He's a good piece on a good team, though.

We've already established that Kevin Durant has rabbit ears and he cares about what people think of him and his legacy. I I lived in the Bay area for years, everyone knew that that was Steph and Klay's team and why are they liked having Durant, he was never going to get love like those guys.

KD is a sensitive dude. A mentally stronger player who genuinely didn't care probably would have stayed in Golden State made more money and just stacked up 5 or 6 titles but that's not his way. He really cares about getting love and admiration

I love KD as a player but this dude is butter soft. He couldve made $220M and competed for a title all 5 years in warmer California and decided to leave that all behind due to all this media nonsense. Probably first superstar in history to make career decisions based on his perceptions of how people feel about him. Road to the final is much easier in the East but he'll be lucky to get 1 ring with Brooklyn. Him and Kyrie are older and have injury issues. If Kawhi goes to Lakers then they have no chance of winning a title. Had he stayed with GSW they would have continued to run through the league.
