Situation and fit is important
I remember people saying the same things about Bosh and Kyrie before they played with Bron.
And ain’t either won of them ever win **** again after they left Bron.

Neither of them dudes were ever gonna be Batman.

AD didn’t even play half this season and the Pellies won about the same number of games as they had in most of his time there. :lol

The fact that we need to use the “need moar halp” thing for AD shows that lol if you are that guy, you can impact winning regardless of how much help. That Pels team still winning games without him was a clear display
This isn’t really true with bigs though. KG is a great example of this.

People who want a short season must not be dedicated basketball fans to begin with

they just want to see the best players healthy and in the lineup.

You can have less game and increase the product. The NBA has become a year round sport. There are plenty of ways to bring in revenue

The only thing I have against shortening the season is that ticket prices will have to go up significantly. As a season ticket holder, I'm vehemently opposed to that.

As far as the mid season tournament thing goes-- I like the spirit of the idea and the fact that it would replace the joke that is the all star game, but if you look at Euro soccer and take say the Copa Del Rey in the Spanish league or Italian Super Cup or something... as a casual soccer fan, I'm not tuning into those tournaments because I don't see the value BUT there is also little to no parity in Euro Soccer. The NBA has solid parity, not NFL level parity but respectable.

I'm down for a 1 season trial run where there's a mid season tourney where the winner or top two get a guaranteed playoff spot or to make it even more competitive - a first round playoff bye.

Your overall point and what you’re supporting it with are both just dead *** wrong or misleading.

Embiid in Year 3 has impacted winning at a higher level than AD has through Year 7.

His career to this point ain’t got nothing to do with the Lakers. Pairing him with Bron is going to be fantastic. But AD alone ain’t been THE GUY or done anything to warrant talking about him being the best player on a title team. Dudes that lose as much as he has don’t deserve that. There’s literally no other elite player that’s won as little as he has.

Winning what though exactly? To my knowledge Embiid has topped out at the 2nd rd in an inferior conference. And he's had way more talent around him than AD while not even being on the floor a lot. Giannis was a playoff series virgin before this season.

Bad teams won't go far. It's common sense. Nothing else needs to be said about it. Embiid had better teams.
See 2017-18 Cavs. Bad team that went far

A better team would still win without the best player, and we’ve clearly seen how bad the Sixers were without Embiid.

You can get hurt in game 1. Shaving games or playing games is pointless. Has dwade not shown y'all that you can't bank rest and save it for later? It's a myth.

Difference between Giannis and Davis at this point and why Giannis isn't a prototypical "big"

"I think the thing that's so unique and different about how Giannis is dominating in the paint is that lots of times he's starting with the ball outside the 3-point line -- and still finishing in the paint," Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer said.

And there's just something especially satisfying about an unassisted drivingdunk. It's such a dramatic display of dominance. It's why in many of his best highlights, Giannis looks like a man among boys.

AD isn't capable? Or just hasn't been utilized in the way Giannis has. AD has literal point guard skills in fact I'd say he has much better handles than Freak has. I've seen him do exactly what Giannis does just not as often.

Make a mini tournament just for the bottom teams. Winner of tournament can get more balls in a lottery or 5 more wins to their regular season record or something.

*edit

With my proposal, I can imagine a mid tier team tanking to qualify for the tournament to win it lmao

Make the summer league something bigger. That’s money and revenue that can come in

Lol like how? Most summer league games are half empty and now you have rookies and sophs that don't even participate. The draw of summer league is that it's affordable. I don't see people paying top dollar to see a bunch of fringe guys that have never played together

Nah Giannis is playing both sides of the PNR and making skip passes as the ball handler. That’s not in AD’s bag

Never said he wasn't capable. When AD can be the ball handler out of the PnR then I'll categorize him the same way I do Greek. They are different types of players at this stage, again it's not a knock on Davis. If he was utilized like Greek and he could be as efficient then the MVP thing would be for the taking. Wings and Guards (ball handlers) are much more prone to winning MVP. Proof is in the pudding

Giannis is the rare 7-footer who puts more pressure on the defense when he’s the ball handler in the two-man game instead of the screener. Using him in the latter role just makes it easier for the defense to keep the ball out of his hands and force one of his teammates to make decisions, while using him in the former allows him to hunt mismatches against poor defenders like Kyrie Irving. Giannis was in the 97th percentile of scorers leaguewide on those plays in the regular season, and he’s in the 98th percentile in the playoffs.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is secretly one of the best pick-and-roll weapons in the entire NBA. And I’m not talking about as a roller. Due to his unique combination of abilities, he’s able to put defenses in impossible situations as a ball-handler receiving a screen. According to Synergy, he averages 1.025 points per possession as the ball handler in pick and roll situations. That ranks in the 88th percentile.
