Once Ben Simmons shows he's made any kind of improvement in his game, it'll quiet down 90 percent of the criticism on him.

He's literally the same player he was as a rookie

His regular season numbers:

His playoff numbers are even more discouraging

Mans wants people to give Mona Lisa credit for using ball hog gloves like that means he's mentally ready to shoot in the actual game.
:lol The criticism for a lot of us isn't even that he can't shoot. There's a lot of dudes in the league that can't shoot - especially at 6'10.

But he's literally been petrified of shooting a basketball for two years. :lol :{

BUT HE'S WEARING A GLOVE!

Dwight Howard would be a good fit for Golden State next year.
With his career marred with insecurity, years of which he allowed equally punk !@#ssed clowns to try and chump him at every turn, his biggest problem is wanting to be liked. If he is solid in who he is now, not caring about what anyone thinks, he still can be a solid post defender and post player on limited minutes, giving Drayvon Green breaks. However, Dwight has to be ready to punch one of the chumps around the NBA in the mouth while on, and then OFF the court. It is a shame that someone that is so physically talented, gifted, cannot impose his will as an athlete due to the fear of being truly confident.

Has there ever been an NBA players who suddenly got a jumpshot after 4 years?

Why anyone is hopeful he'll ever have a respectable jumper is beyond me
Rajon Rondo was kinda the same as Ben Simmons in that you could completely ignore him cuz he won't shoot. Rondo is willing to take jump shots now and he is ok at it.

People do have a somewhat unexplainable hate for Ben Simmons here that goes beyond the flaws in his game. I’m not sure what it is (seriously) but he attracts a lot of negative attention.

For me, i blame him (he should at least have the westbrook offensive game outside of forcing so many 3s or at least the game he had when he could consistently hit that foul line jumper and added a post game), the kardashians/jenners and the organization

i say the organization because they needed/need to giannis/lebron him.. i dont agree with those who think him and embiid are a bad fit, i actually think him and embiid are a great fit if they each work out some things.. it's ben and tobias fit that i question.. but ben should be playing the 4 and focusing on shooters.. Kemba would have been good look as a guy who could play multiple roles with those dudes and would have been a better look than the Harris deal and you still go with al to backup both big spots

i mean i get that, that was supposed to be the idea behind going after fultz, but it just seems they've scrapped that.. it's kinda like with OKC and going with athletes and size around russ and when they had durant, when they saw what damage harden could do along with ibaka being able to at least hit open jumpers somewhat consistently.. having dead weight perkins and thabo going with those guys along with nothing coaches did nothing for those guys

This is great. The last point Max makes is especially relevant.

From rookie to sophomore year Ben Simmons per was exactly the same. Rookie yr 20. Sophomore yr 20.

It's not like Giannis's per which had some change from year to year. From 18 to 21 to 26 and now a 30 PER yr.

Problem with Ben is literally the only development that really takes his game up a notch is his ability to shoot a basketball. He's fantastic across the board at literally everything else.

But that's probably the most difficult thing in basketball to develop at this stage. It takes years.

Where's Allen Iverson when you need him... Practice, man. We're talking about practice.

Ben doesn't get any credit until he's shooting basketballs in a gym with defenders around him.

All I’m saying is that people talk **** every single day on here and everywhere really saying that Ben doesn’t even work on his shooting. He clearly is TRYING to improve in that area and gain more confidence. Whether he comes out and is pulling up jumpers and taking threes this year I have no idea. But he’s clearly trying to take steps to get past this at least.

Last season Lebby had an attempted game winning shot mashed by Mario Hezonja. Don’t think that happens to prime Bron.

That should be DeAndre Jordan's blocked shot without that push in the back to give Mario a boost, Bron gets that shot off. If you look from the under the basket angle you can see how much of a boost he gave him.

You gathered all of that from him wearing a glove? We've seen the funny videos of him actually shooting in shoot arounds yet when the game starts he's a mental ****** again. It's just really rich coming from YOU of all people.

Trying where?

He’s going to be at Rico Hines not shooting like he was last summer

Simmons went on a TV show and said he doesn’t need to work on his shooting :lol

It’s good he changed his mind. Let’s see if that glove helps him shoot a mid range first

Agree with first part, disagree with second part.

But yeah with Ben and his shooting woes.... I feel like shooting is the one thing that average joes feel like they can do, or could train to do well if they were a pro athlete. Literally nothing on an nfl field would an avg joe think they can do. Nothing on an nba court would an avg joe think they could do, OTHER than shooting, if they trained. And it’s the only thing Ben can’t do
