I remember hearing once that the United States is the only country where FIBA < Olympics for basketball.

For every other country its the other way around.

I think it's a culture thing.

We got the NBA, it’s like nothing else matters even with olympics feel like dudes don’t care that much anymore

Other countries use fiba as a measuring stick as well as Olympics. Very important to them since they have a ton of random leagues but also use it as a showcase to ball out and land in the league or college in the USA

If team USA wins fiba with their C team they'd be right.

Yeah it disappoints me that the top talent doesnt wanna participate. Type of opportunities I wouldn't be able to pass up on to hell with what people think..

Also the cycle is repeating itself. World is catching up were gonna get got again sooner or later and than they're gonna have to go all redeem team again.

Honestly I agree. If the 2004 debacle doesn’t happen, we don’t get that epic 2008 run and the final vs Spain.

The rest of the world been caught up, can’t let these C team guys blow it for the US.

Also kinda bs how they changed the qualifying system. Slovenia won the euro tournament but since they couldn't play their top talent during qualifiers they're assed out

Easy for us to say that we wouldn't pass it up.

Imagine playing in the playoffs, wanting to enjoy your summer and time off and then having to COMMIT to aomething else that you probably don't even care about.

It is VERY easy to see why so many folks drop out. What is in it for them?
