^^^ I’m not disputing what anyone is saying about how Zion was ranked among his high school class before college, but, as someone who doesn’t follow prep ball closely, I know I knew who Zion was before I knew who any of his classmates were.

A little disappointed Zion signed with Jordan simply because I haven't liked a Jordan sig in forever. Wish him the best.

man, tell me about it..jordan sigs are atrocious to look at. joints always end up at the clearance/outlet stores

Zion was a viral sensation no doubt but to say he would've gone #1 last season let alone in past drafts w/o going to Duke is just flat out wrong. Once again @buc em has no idea what he's talking about.

We only saw him play against what looked like elementary players in those videos.

Yup.

It’s like if Lamelo somehow went #1 next year....and dudes were saying he could’ve come out any year because of “hype”. They get being viral sensations that are elite prospects mixed with being actual can’t miss, consensus #1 prospects.

Both Zion and Lamelo are respectively NBA lotto pick talents....but their celebrity exceeds the type of prospects they were in HS looking ahead.

Jordan was fully retired by the time this guy even knew what a basketball was  will there ever be another athlete like this? Does Bron/Kobe have pull with the youngins like that?

solid question but i doubt it. MJ had a logo that has been recognized world wide for close to 30 years, that brand recognition in and of itself probably sets him apart from any other athlete in terms of their pull inter-generationally. on top of that, the attention span of current and future generations of youth will continue to be divided because of the proliferation of social media and youtube. MJ and pro athletes of his generation almost had the undivided attention of sports fans. contrast that with the high schoolers i work with, many of whom are on the basketball team. It's impressive just how much non-professional basketball these young men soak in. they're glued to IG and youtube, not watching highlights of steph or bron, but mixtapes of nationally ranked high schoolers.

He amassed a really large internet following from his hs highlights but the book on him prior to his duke season was that he was untested, played in a weak hs conference whereas RJ was more tested and more highly skilled. At least this was the book on Zion according to the 'experts' who made those draft projections.

Interesting recollection of events by Lawler cause I'm positive that Bean has said on multiple occasions that he was going to Chicago before Dr. Buss pulled the trigger on that Shaq trade.

Okay so instead of a 30 game sample it's a 50 game sample, in which they went 19-31.....

My point wasn't to say Bradley Beal didn't play well after Wall went out, it was to say posting his numbers with the likes of Bird, Steph, Bron & MJ is pointless

50 games is a considerable sample-size...and why is it pointless if his numbers DO compare to some all-time greats?

No reason to think Beal won't better those numbers seeing as how he's gotten better each year and just turned 26.

Both things can be true.

Unless Timmy D and Manu have found a time machine and are going to come back on the Spurs in their primes, them on the bench does nothing for that sorry roster.

Snitching behind Stephen A Smith!! I usually rock with duke but sometimes, just keep your mouth shut bruh.

Anthony Davis Lay’s “deal” definitely ain’t about no darn potato chips either. You know there’s more
