Are people really excited that a professional basketball is working on his game?

Is this what it's come to?

When fans see players working on parts of their game they don’t typically see in games then yeah people get excited. This isn’t anything new.

Even if it was somebody like Giannis who actually shoots some threes in games was fluidly hitting threes and fadeaway jumpers people would get excited.

Nah you the only one that does it. There's video of Giannis shooting with Korver around the internet today but Bucks fans ain't coming in here posting every video of him doing it. It's only funny cause Simmons refuses to shoot in games.

Let's see if Ben will let the jumper fly this season. It'll be his 3rd year in the nba. If he pulls the same not shooting habits this season it's safe to say he'll be the same player for the rest of his career. He has to start shooting, even if he misses.

When you’ve been the same guy for your entire career so far, any improvement is meaningful

Like #20 actually practicing is meaningful lol

He shot like 4 shots just shooting around in an empty gym all looking less fluid than any of Ben’s while Ben was being guarded by nothing but NBA players :lol

And that Giannis video actually was hyped up on the internet today or else neither of us would have seen it. Saw that **** posted by three different IG accounts and several Twitter accounts. Hyping it up like Korver was teaching this man some magic shooting form :lol

Lol at 'being guarded' you really are something else. Until the coward shoots the shots in actual NBA competition nobody cares.

He had a hand in his face by Wiggins (7’0 wingspan) and Tristian Thompson (7’1 wingspan) in every shot in the video besides the pull-up three that every team in the league will give him space for right now.

Mixing in highlights of Ben dunking got to me. The intent of the video was clear, we already know NBA players can dunk why the need to include that

Dude should go into every pick up game with the mindset of trying not to dunk and shooting as much as possible

Reminds me of when Fultz Revenge Tour was coming with every IG video he put up... of him.... dunking

Ben's an elite defender right? Post the video of him getting cooked by Wiggins. I know you seen that one too.

True. I member how bad the Wolves got hit for their shenanigans with Joe Smith. That was for supposed under the table dealings guess that's more in line with what Uncle Dennis was supposedly doing. Clips don't have any draft picks going forward to take away though.

:lol :{

Lol you want dude to just jack up blatantly bad shots just to get them up, pissing off everybody else he’s playing with and developing bad habits?

And go on Chris Johnson’s IG...this wasn’t just some random hype video for Ben. He posts these videos for plenty of player’s in his runs all the time.

Lolllll hold up. So no defense was being played for Ben’s highlights but Ben was going all out on D getting cooked by Wiggins huh?

You don't get it. None of it means anything in a damn open run gym. Ben ain't any less of a defender b/c Wiggins was cooking him and him shooting 3 or 4 shots doesn't mean **** either.

Of course...but someone would be crazy if they think that Ben Simmons working on his jump shot is somehow a new part of his routine or some ****. He's a basketball player. 100% of them do this. I promise you...somewhere this summer...Bismack Biyombo has shot basketballs in a gym. People see ONE video, and lose their **** these days.

The guy's tweet is correct in that there are a million idiots who would see a video of him eating frozen yogurt with some instagram ***** and think that he's "not working on his game". But don't be an idiot in the other direction and get excited because you see a video of something a person didn't just start doing.

Personally...I think the mass obsession with his lack of shooting is ******* absurd. I get the jokes...but beyond that part it's really weird now. Ben Simmons is not the first ******* basketball player who was a poor shooter . It's a weakness, yes...a glaring one particularly because of how the game is played today and his position. He also has many strengths...which he opts to play towards as efficiently as he SHOULD. If he played for the Suns or some other team who has nothing to lose, maybe he can develop his jump shot on company time. Obviously, he doesn't have that luxury on a contending team.

There's poor shooting and then there's Ben Simmons. He's a point guard in 2019 who hasn't made a 3 pointer all season. Not one.

Boban Marjanovich has made more three pointers than him this season.

The attention Ben's shooting gets is warranted.

Boban Marjanovich will also never play in an All Star Game in the NBA or make $170M playing basketball in his current lifetime.

Which one of those scenarios would you rather be in if you had to choose?
