Adam Silver Tried To Broker Deal Between James Dolan, Steve Ballmer On Inglewood Arena

Adam Silver attempted to broach a compromise between James Dolan and Steve Ballmer on their battle over competing arena projects in Inglewood, California.

Madison Square Garden runs The Forum in Inglewood, which was recently refurbished and hosts concerts.

Inglewood, however, has worked on building a new arena with Ballmer and the Los Angeles Clippers approximately one mile away from The Forum.

Silver publicly supported the efforts to build a new arena and proposed a compromise that included The Forum receiving a fee for any concerts booked at the new arena.

“It didn’t happen. I don’t know why it didn’t happen,” Dolan said. “I think it may have something to do with everybody wanting to bring their lawyers, which was seen as unproductive.

“That was the end of the matter. But, in any case, a proposal made to us on this basis would not be acceptable in terms of the problem we have with the new Clippers arena.”

While trying to block the Clippers from moving to Inglewood, Dolan attempted to recruit the Lakers to The Forum.

Has nothing to do with money. Dolan has an agreement with the city.

Everything has to do with money...just wait....

So basically the city of Inglewood can take the land back anytime they want and sell it to Balmer.

Dolan has no chance to win this they will cut him a check worst case and he will go away.

Ahhh okay. The rest of the article I posted a screen of was talking about Dolan suing iglewood and then a countersuit or some stuff

James Dolan net worth $1.5 billion; Steve Ballmer net worth $50.4 billion. Uncle Steve gonna win this one.
Forgot which show on ESPN I was watching today, but they said 8Ballmer could buy the 15 highest valued franchises in the league and still have $5B+ leftover.

Wild.

2024 only person that's still going to be on the team is Pat Bev.

Is there still resistance from inglewood residents? Or was that the city itself and it’s ok now?

How you get this much money :lol

The layers to the Dolan vs Ballmer/Inglewood parking lot suit

Apparently Dolan gave a million to some no chance mayoral candidate to try to help

That was the most money spent on a candidate ever in election history
Mentioned this yesterday. It's over a parking lot

Inglewood's current mayor is all for the new arena and promised hundreds of new jobs

Gentrification incoming though

Resistance on what? The Clippers coming to the Forum?

From the gentrification of their community. Probably a lot. Their housing and rents are going up astronomically. And that's just with the Rams stadium.
