For all the people that always put Franks D is amazing this is how I look at it.
Example: Curry vs Wall. Curry Drops 30, Wall Drops 20.
Curry vs Frank. Curry Drops 24 due to his “amazing defense” Frank Drops 4pts.

How is that helping? You give up waaay to much offense with Frank on the court especially in today’s game where teams are consistently dropping over a 100 points a game.

Also by Frank being ZERO threat on offense it allows the other teams D to sag off him and allow easier access for help D which makes it harder for our other players to score. Vice a guard that’s a threat to score makes it easier for our other players to score Because the D has to be more focused on him.

I would've swore they were just saying the exact opposite.

That Frank's +/- is way more in his favor of him being on the court than off

If the NBA was a one on one sort of thing then yeah that example would make endless sense but apparently for this current team they play better defense when Frank is in the lineunp.

To me the simple argument is you need to be way more active on both ends of you want to play. He's not, so bench him.

i don't buy into the +/- in every scenario. like mentioned above, if Harden has 24 points and Frank has 0, but Harden averages 30, was Frank REALLY that valuable? at the end of the day, i look at who can cancel each other out. Harden drops 30, Steph drops 30, so that's a wash. is Klay going to score more points than x player or is KD going to score more than x player etc. idk if that makes sense.

If Frank's +/- happens to be way better than Harden's then it depends on the score.

The +/- of a player is about their impact on the team when they're on or off the court.

Of course other variables are involved (like other players +/-) though but they are usually a clear indicator
