Official 2019 NYK offseason thread. Brooklyn knick fans check in

Man I used to think analysts sounded stupid talking about attitude and demeanor when it came to good players, the talent overrode everything. Till John Wall came in the picture.

Speaking of which, Just watched the video about Melo. Makes you think what could of happened if he moved to PF to play alongside Linsanity.

Man every champion had to some how adapt or adjust his game for the betterment of the team. Melo was just too stubborn and only about his money. He coulda had one more big contract too, but for some he reason he comes off as a guy who thinks everyone is against him. It’s a hood mentality, so I don’t blame him.

theres no way shouldnt be playing for someone rightnow... even if it 20 mins a night.. no way there's 200 dudes better than melo right now.

im sure he' s getting the standard sprewell , marbury , allen iverson treatment... guys who clashed with their coaches get escorted out the league something nice...
I agree, especially at Vet minimum. However, if dude cant change his attitude and is not willing to contribute any which way a team needs him and is not willing to develop or ****s up a young team developing plan, then I understand.

Can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Melo falls into that category. Some dudes will just never change. I’m sure he’s fine though, drinking wine in some alleyway of Italy.

its just weird how you can go from a 25 ppg player to a has been in 2 or seasons....

its not like defense is a big part of the league these days when teams are scoring 130 a night, so to say he cant defend is a cop out. I watch these games and defense is only played in close games with 5 mins left

that's what i'm saying. he seemed to embrace his role in Houston more than he did in OKC. he just wasn't a good fit with the athleticism that OKC had. Houston's problem is much bigger than Melo, because they're still struggling. i think his problem is that he refuses to face the fact that he's not going to play 30 mpg anymore. he still wants to be one of the go to guys at his age. he needs to accept his role as an off the bench scorer at this stage in his career.

Pringles just wanted the last laugh. Rockets are trash. Ball movement is stagnant and they don’t play defense. Capela held out for bread and now he’s folding. Melo did what he was asked but you know it’s easy to label him a scapegoat

Houston actually plays a similar style to OKC. The main difference is that Harden and Paul are also shooters. They push the ball at a fast face that relies on athletic forwards to get the rebound. Since they do not have Ariza to play PF next to Capela.. especially on defense.. They've had to use Tucker.. Tucker and Carmelo are non-athletic forwards.. With Houston's style of play they can not have two non-athletic forwards on the floor at the same time..

Then when you look at OKC .. they've been playing this fast, frenetic pace since Westbrook came into the league... Westbrook has zero intentions of slowing the pace down... by the time Carmelo got the ball he's gassed...

IF you're speaking about Carmelo and his fit .. the best two spots has always been the Grizzlies and the Spurs..

Some of y'all had the nerve to say he's nothing but an undersized bulk scorer when he shredded us in every category and position on the floor...effortlessly.
That's cuz we suck though. He don't get praise for that.

This is like Kemba's first great season.

Kemba is in contract year. He’s always been a good player, but willing to bet anything he won’t have this type of production next year.

i'd like to see him on the Spurs. if anyone can still get real good value out of an older player, its Pop. just look what he's done with Rudy Gay.

I believe it. I feel pop can make any player good. Bargani would be killing it if he was on the spurs
