In general I agree with everything you are saying here. Most of those players are pedestrian. A number of them were good defensively though and that team was top 10 defensively.Tbh everyone hated that roster and said none of them could shoot
Ourside of nurk, who was always going to be gone that roster is pedestrian as well. A lot of those guys were or are out of their new teams rotations
Blazers roster construction has always been in an issue. Especially when they signed Evan turner and some others
Had to get away from that giant luxury tax bill

Those guys not being relevant now doesn't really matter. 2-3 years ago guys like Aminu and Harkless were very good roster pieces that anyone would have liked to have had.Exactly. I’m not saying it was a perfect roster, but they had some size on the wings and some depth, along with Dame and CJ. Things that the current Blazers squad doesn’t have. They finished 3rd in the West that year. This current team was 10th (?) at the break and needed a semi-miraculous bubble run to even make the playoffs.
They didn't have Nurkic or Collins all season and didn't get Ariza til mid January. Hood only played 21 games. Think some of that deserves to be stated.Exactly. I honestly don’t see how Dame deserves any slander for this series. He’s doing what he can, but his team is just outmanned. The Blazers third best scorer is a 35 year old Melo who couldn’t find an NBA job for more than a year.
This Blazers team is arguably less talented than other versions that got bounced out of the playoffs over the last few years. That’s why I been saying all along I didn’t buy the idea they could give the Lakers major problems if they made the playoffs.
They gave us a good story in the bubble though.
Every time we get to ****in ****** up tmz catch us

Did anybody actually think this team was going to make a Finals run other than Charles Barkley?Right. All fair points. All I’m really getting at is that it was a fantasy to think this current Blazers team, as constructed going into the bubble, could make a Finals run. The things you pointed to are also part of that.
They did when Lillard was dropping 50-60 every single night...now Luka's in the finals. Wonder who's next. Donovan Mitchell?Did anybody actually think this team was going to make a Finals run other than Charles Barkley?

You mean like Rodney Hood and Trevor Ariza?Blazers should bring everyone back next year before they make drastic changes.
They need to add 2 actual rotational bench players though, this is by far the worst bench in the league.
I thought the Blazers would get swept but the games would be competitive. Guess I was wrong too.
They rolled all that competitiveness into game 1 apparently.
