The Pac10 fighting playoff expansion when their conference champion is literally on the chopping block annually even with one loss in those meetings is hilarious.

It's inevitable. Might as well get it going sooner and make sure your teams at least have a chance to play for the natty.

Basically you mean the B1G? PAC has no juice in this fight
It sounds like Kliavkoff though new is pretty charismatic and forward in his approach. And his reasoning seems to be hitting with Warren.

He's making the same argument Bowlsby did about how the decisions have all been driven by ESPN operating in bad faith and by Sankey who was involved in the expansion committee but had more information than every other commissioner and withheld it. Also how those same parties , ESPN and the SEC, stand to benefit the most from ESPN keeping sole rights to the playoff, while the B1G and PAC who have deals with Fox would be screwed out of a possibly even bigger pay day.

Whether they have any juice, or not, with the Big 12 dying, the playoff doesn't work if the PAC decides not to go along with things as they are. There's no world where playoff survives if you're just working on viewership from East of Austin. 5 of the top 20 TV markets are still in the Pac 12. As important as the SEC is because it just means more, they've only got 3 (including DFW and Houston) of the top 20 markets in their footprint (5 if you count Charlotte, Miami, and Orlando, but those are ACC/G5 markets.)

Expansion would help the PAC 12 for sure, because playoff participation is more money to all the schools and it makes them getting a team in more likely. But I think they're realizing more that the fight might be fixed and besides getting one team in more often, a 12 team playoff does nothing for them if it's just an ESPN and SEC conspiracy to slot 5 SEC teams in every year.

ESPECIALLY with the system the Sankey-led committee came up with that doesn't guarantee 6 conference champions an auto bid. Now with this Texas/OU and ESPN stuff coming out it's pretty obvious why they wanted to guarantee flexibility to squeeze in at large's, no?

Is Jalen Brown that good? Or is he just super fast? dacomeup dacomeup
I honestly haven't watched his tape yet since it's so far out. Some contingent of local folks think he's 1(b) to Innis for next year. Haven't seen either of their sophomore films though. That speed is pretty crazy.

SEC Alabama
Big Ten Ohio State
ACC Clemson
Big XII Oklahoma
Pac 12 Oregon

Michigan's record 8-4

Oh 100% there's some SEC selfishness in some of this... But the SEC is where the overwhelming number of eyeballs are and they've got more of the higher-end revenue generating programs than any other conference does. They're going to hold most of the power.

Conference champions need to be guaranteed spots. But there won't be six conferences that matter. It might only be 4.

Going back to the desert swarm days
Wildcats fans always speak so glowingly about the "Desert Swarm days." One of their recent commits said he wanted to bring back the winning ways and glory days of the Desert Swarm.

Where they were 95-64-4 (60-49-4 in conference) only had double figure wins 2x, and only made 7 bowl games (4-3) in 14 years?

Complete this sentence:

"This is the year [BLANK] finally clears the Bama hurdle."

Georgia and A&M on the surface seem like the only two with enough impact talent to challenge them.

But A&M’s quarterback situation needs to get figured out.
