If after the summer Ben is still a daily topic 24/7 then it might be approaching 2011 status but until then it's probably more like PG last year.

Next time he'll be in the news after this initial wave of furor dies down after this week might be when there's some trade discussions surrounding him.

Not really expecting folks to be pyschoanalyzing him and dissecting his existence from all angles in a few weeks.

I don't envy these athletes during the SM era though, gotta be an insane and exhausting way of life having your every fault put on blast on the big screen and discussed by any and everyone :smh:

If I mentioned the NBA recently taking a larger stance on understanding the nuance of mental health WHY are we referencing the 2011 NBA finals?

Folks mentioned LeBron (2011) because we are pretending Ben Simmons is currently receiving the largest amount of public backlash a player has gotten in modern NBA history.

That just isn't true.

Separate convo from what you are addressing.

If LeBron James himself can control the media and protect his image/how far people go when critiquing him the NBA can do a better job on a whole monitoring the utter disrespect these talking heads display on a daily basis

Your clearly STRUGGLING with understanding what I'm saying and that's okay

🤡🤡🤡

Look I can do that to!

The basis of your argument is that LeBron is somehow protected from slander and criticism. What I'm saying is that LeBron isn't protected in any way, whether that be criticism on or off the court, personally or professionally.

He gets criticism from all angles. WTF are you talking about when you say LeBron is "protected?"

No one is protected. What sports league protects their athletes from criticism?

Doc had a #1 seed, with maybe the best home court advantage in the league and lost games 1,5,7 at home. All while giving up big big leads in games 4 and 5.

Series should've been over in 6 in spite of Ben Simmons. Imo
coughed up big leads with three all defensive level players
wasn't another 3-1 meltdown, but this series loss was just as bad

The defense tho, especially with Klay back would be stellar. All Ben would need to do is split time bringing the ball up with Dray and find open shooters. That’s legit all he would have to do on that end. That’s it. But GS needs a bench, a legit bench because Klay and Steph can’t play all 48
You can’t have Dray and Ben on the floor at the same time  …N if one goes to the bench then they paying 30+ mill for defense and 9 pts a game in less mins :lol

The new cycle is greatly intensified with social media but no one is going to be talking about Ben Simmons in 72 hours, much less a month from now, much less a decade from now.

The criticism Ben has gotten in the last 12 hours isn't 1% of what LeBron got in 2011.

How this man continues to be in the league coaching is crazy.
Rick Adelman was one of the better floor-raising coaches of his generation so I think that answers the question.

And just like Doc he coached a bunch of teams to the playoffs but eventually got let go because he couldn’t get over the hump. Guys like that will always have a job, though they may not be winning chips.

Historically, White Coaches have been given LONGER leashes to be not as successful as Doc Rivers.

We can stop this, "How does he keep getting jobs" nonsense.

Exactly. Quin Snyder isn't getting enough backlash for what happened in games 5 and 6 of that series. Lost a series that was tied 2-2 to a team playing without their all-NBA player. Clearly outcoached and out-schemed and he's getting away scott free.

#1 seed, series tied 2-2, home court advantage, playing against a team without their best player and you lose both of the games? You couldn't even win one and have game seven at home? He's not even getting any hot seat talk.

Ain’t defending quin but realistically who believed in the jazz like that? Without Kawhi it was still an evenly matched series.

Wrong, wrong, and wrong again.

Have a great day man.

I wonder how much control the NBA has over companies they aren't in the bed with.

Maybe they can tell the ESPN (DIsney) Higher Ups that they need a more positive and less disrespectful tone when discussing players but these companies that are on their own, I'm not sure how the NBA could control them.
