If the league is intent on starting the league in October, they should probably lighten the schedule to 60 games over the normal amount of time. But they won't, because money.

I think they could even do the 72 games from this season just spread it out over the calendar. This season was ridiculous like 72 games in a 140 some odd days.

The Kawhi injury came on a contact play, so I’m hesitant to blame it completely on the quick turnaround between seasons and compressed schedule, but I guess there’s no way to really know whether it was a factor.

ZaZa Pt. 2 featuring Jingles :smh:

Finals gonna look like this at this rate

Gerald Bourguet: Chris Paul on getting vaccinated: “I think all of these situations are personal-type decisions.” Says they’ll keep talking about it in the NBPA but doesn’t see any kind of mandate coming
🤔

You asked when had he been healthy. Next time ask a more targeted question.
You think you can depend on AD as a first option? Depend on him to be healthy and carry your offense and defense? Thats just the point. We can just go in circles . As a first option hasnt lead his team any close to relevance . As a number 2 he couldnt stay healthy for a full season without a 3 month break in between. Moving forward as he gets older how can you be confident with him as a number 1. Injuries aside he was bad this year

A “short” off-season has nothing to do with injuries. Guys still had months off. How much time should you take off to prevent injuries?

Wut. The Lakers and Heat had like 2 months off. The championship winning team usually has like 4.5 months off. That's a significant difference.

And you guys know the drill.

Only way people would give this season an asterisk is if Lebron and the lakers won  :smh:

Man, fans can’t assign a season an asterisk. All the stars/playoff teams came to the bubble to win a chip. All lost except the lakers. Can’t assign one for this year either. Injuries aren’t new.

Crazy going from an all time performance by KD to the news about CP3 and Kiwi.

If y'all want to put an asterisk on this years champs, you should probably do the same for the Raptors when KD and Klay went down as well.

At the very least. I hope they learn from last season. If money and ratings talk. Star player availability influences ratings. Having your top guys injured ultimately is going to hurt ratings in the long run if they miss extensive time, especially if that includes playoffs.

If the season starts in October. Whoever plays in the finals is getting just over a 3 month layoff. Give the final 4 teams a light schedule the first month of the season and minimize their early season nationally televised games and don’t flip out if they rest/load manage players early in the season.

Actually you would be wrong …. Most nba finals end around June 20th …… and the training camp starts around September 20th or a few days later …… that’s 90-95 or so days ….. 3 months

Last year's playoffs were trash. No fans. Players sitting 10 feet apart. Sanitizing balls. FYRE festival meals. Big ol VR heads for fans in the background glitching in and out. Commentators commentating from the roof inside a cube.

Was just sad. That wasn't the NBA that was the Hunger Games.

Sure if he gets a regular offseason to heal/rest. Lakers more than any team besides the Heat got hurt by the quick turnaround they had 65 or 67 days between G6 of the Finals and G1 of this regular season.

For the Lakers to succeed going forward he's going to have to be the #1 option with Bron's age and mileage. Just going by the recent history not counting the truncated season he's been producing at an all NBA level on both sides of the floor the last 5 season and when he's gotten to the playoffs he beasted. Period.
