The difference is Europe already has an established presence in world football.

Meanwhile you have owners like di Laurentiis who talk about never signing African players again in general, because he thinks the African football tournaments that his players leave for are jokes.

I don’t get how someone can’t see things like that and still refuse to understand why an African football fan could root for another African country. Morocco winning an African tournament and then going on to beat European teams shows that African football made huge strides to be more on par with the European and South American “standard”.
